I got a Star Wars Transformer today

Luke is much more satisfying outside of the box.

Obiwan is surprisingly satisfying.

Either of those quotes would make a great sig.  :thumb  :tflaugh

Seriously though, my Vader really disappointed me.  I can't get the little Vader fig to fit in the thing properly in EITHER mode.  And the wing that has hinges, I guess the cape one, just won't stay together in vehicle mode.

In all seriousness, this was the figure that convinced me to sell my collection.  In a roundabout way, but this purchase was the straw that broke the camel's back.

*reads about SW TFs online months ago*

*says "Wow, what a lame idea."*

*sees pics of SW TFs online, weeks ago*

*says "Wow, I was right, those do look lame."*

*sees Darth Vader TF in Target, days ago*

*says "Wow, it looks even lamer in person."*

*immediately grabs bot and runs to the counter to buy it anyway*

*gets home*

*opens Vader TF*

*says "Yup.  Lamest thing I have ever seen."*

*realizes that collecting has become more of an addiction than a hobby*

*sells collection*

You forgot

"buy my toys". :tflaugh

I don't blame anyone for thinking they're lame. I can see how the cape wouldn't stay together, but mine does pretty well. The Vader fig is a tight fit at best in vehicle mode.

No, I just figured you'd drop it in for me.  :thumb

i haven't seen many of people interest in starwars TF :tfmad

Well Beefkr10z, you should have gotten te obi-wan starfighter.

The altmode is exactly like the toy and exposes no robot parts (unlike vader). The transformations is very logical and much like a macross vehical.

The seating for the figure is well designed and looks like the original vehical plus the seat moves to accomodate the fact that the pilot can sit up right in bot form.

Dude, get this guy, you won't be disappointed.

i too only bought vader (has yet to open 2 weeks now a record)

my roomie bought me griveous cos he thought i wanted it

havent opened either thinking they may be worth something more in a yr not substanial but vader as a tf i mean cmon sounds lame but how can i resist

*still happy i havent opened for none of these reasons the toy just looks lame :(

I;m definitely going to invest in a Darth Maul figure or 3, for secret kitbash project  :thumb

Planning on buying Darth Vader. I am more a Star Trek fan than a Star Wars fan allthough I loved both Knights Of The Old Republic games.

But Vader is one of the ultimate bad guys and I want to own at least one "Transformer" of this line. Obi-Wan does look nice but his face looks incredibly off.

It is an interesting idea that, had it been better executed would have made a cool toyline.

A team-up would have been cooler. I mean a retool of Vector Prime into Starscream as a Sith vessel paired with Vader, how cool is that? Or the Jetfire as Millenium Falcon along with Chewie and Solo.

The main problem with this line is that they used the Star Wars design team to engineer them. It was the stupidest idea in history. I mean, HELLO! Yes, they make good regular action figures and vehicles with some moving parts. But that doesn't mean they can make something as complex as a transformer.  If you want something to transform well, let the people whose job is to design transformers do it.

If Marvel teamed with Harley-Davidson to create motorcycles based off Marvel characters like Wolverine, would Marvel engineer the bike? No way!

So leave the designing and engineering of transforming vehicles to the people that have over 20 years of experience doing it.

That's my rant for now. The bad news is that I'm obsessed with collecting and will probably pick them all up anyway.

I bought all 4 of them and the 2 I like are Obi-wan and Luke. They actually look like robots that could fit in the Transformers universe and have their own personalities. Grievous reminds me of some weird anime mech but at least they got the seat on the right side of the wheel unlike the action figure version. Vader just sucks and mine don't even have the problems everyone else has broght up except the seating. He is just to lame. Anakin, the Fetts, and Maul I will get but the Millenium Falcon ones will be on my pass list. How those 2 got past the drawing board is beyond me

^Whoa! deja-vu! (except for the *sells collection* bit - you try & take my Masterpiece Convoy away from ME!!)

As for choosing which TF to get, I had no choice, as it was the only one the shop had.

I agree with massdestructions' comment about the SW team designing them being a major problem, as we all know that nobody can make TF's like the Japanese. I would love to see what Takara could have done with the figures
