MIRAGE MIRAGE MIRAGE MIRAGE MIRAGE MIRAGE MIRAGE MIRAGE  :drool  :drool  :drool  :drool

I would totally buy that those were pre-show forms for the two leaders reimagined.  First, the maximals and preds were decendants of autobots and decepticons, who didn't start out as animals, but several had beast forms in generation 1.  Ravage, who appeared in beast wars, as a a jaguar(not unlike his original form from G1) is proof that there were bots still around that were sporting not only beast forms, but earth dwelling beast forms.  Why is it so hard to swallow.  I know this isn't what they looked like in the first episode.  But these look so much cooler.  I am PERFECTLY content with these two figures in place of the slightly remolded beasties.  Though, i would prefer hasbro release both sets.  Madhammer, I thought you would be ecstatic about these imaginative new takes on two of your most beloved transformers.  What's the deal, Yo?  :monkey

Also just noticed that they come with an IDW comic.  I'm gonna guess these are from IDWs new continuity.  Because, I had no idea WTF was happening in that preview :wtf

i think what we were expecting from all the hype was a masterpiece (of sorts) primal and megs. theyre certainly not that.

Finally some color pics of Alt. Mirage!  The wait is almost over. :thumb

Wow!

Not keen on Cannon ball but - i really really like the C-RA mold so i will prolly get it.

Mirage is just AWSOME! I love how his knees kinda match his G1 knees in that they have the siver Rims/Engine on them (ok ghey fanboy i know but no different than saying Grim-Tfs just like g1 which he doesnt at all....)

Megs and Primal..... i am SUPER glad they didnt just repaint BW figures.

I hate to break it to everyone but the BW 10th's are the ONLY Cybertron era shelfwarmers that we have.  Everything else (at least in SoCal) sells fairly quickly (now that we got rid of Alt-Swindle)

SO HERE IS THE 10 MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION:

i want these new Primal and Megs!!!

BUT

I also want Show accuarates -

is the answer:

Robo-Masters?

or

Takara Reheaded repaints? (and how  much is this set anyway??)

Hunter

that primal and megs might not be that close to thier show selves but they sure as hell look gr8

mirage's bot mode to me is still a little meh but im still going to get him

cannon ball is a very cool repaint if i cant get alert ill be getting him

Actually, none are truly showaccurate  :tfevil The new BWR set from Takara is close in color and beast look, but Primal's left lower arm cannon is still completey wrong and Megatron still doesn't have a left hand. The RM versions are closer, but Primal's monkey face is a bit off and his colors aren't right. You just can't win, although I do think the RM version is the best. (Getting RM Beast Convoy and Black Best convoy and mixing some parts might get you the best result.)

Was taken completely by surprise by this pic.

Already have Leobreaker, but Nemesis Breaker looks amazing and I feel like buying that one. Cannonball looks a lot better than I expected when I saw the first drawing and might just get this one (although I do have some trouble with the fact that he still has those two siren-lights on his roof and that they're now black).

Primal & Megs....Megs looks great. Never cared too much for the original mold and this looks very cool and menacing. Primal...Primal is a bit weird. One the one hand I like this look, on the other I don't. I will get him (big Primal fan), but I am surprised. I must say, following comments like "you guys are going to crap you pants when you see these molds", I was expecting something a little more. Them having their little ships with them is a nice touch btw.

Alt Mirage. Well, commenting on that seems a bit insulting. Let's just say that from the looks of him this could be one of the best, if not TEH best alt so far. Really loving him.

First I gotta say Cannonball, Mirage and N. Breaker look sweet. Thanks TFormers for ruining the surprise when I get my new TCC issue

Now on to BW Megs and Primal :puke From what I heard these 2 were going to be the best BW figures ever but they look nothing like what I expected from everyones description. Being someone who has enjoyed BW since day one I was expecting show accurate figures with a beefed up attitude. These are more like "Let your nephew design the new toys contest" figures but I will buy them because I will support Beast Wars til the day I die plus, minis of the 2 ships is sweet. At least these is something show accurate about these 2

As for what the alt modes looked like pre BW. Was it ever stated that they did have alt modes. This was a time of "peace" for the 2 factions so the need for diguise wasn't really needed(except for spies). The only ones that would have alt modes would be the explorers to blend into whatever planet they were studying and since the Axalon was still in transport they probably didn't have any alt modes until they got to their destination, hence the reason for DNA resequencers on the ship. Plus the Maximals in the stasis pods were all generic looking so I doubt they had alt modes when assembled, or however a transformer comes on line IMO IMO IMO

it sure would be nice if Mirage came with an alt paint scheme like so:
