even though every fan in the world already called this (Han + Chewie = Falcon) it still looks pretty awful IRL.

 

Which makes me think that the Alternators concept isn't really too far away from SWTFs anymore. "Everyone's a car!" didn't raise any eyebrows when we were talking about G1 guys who actually had been cars, but now..... it's just getting silly to me. I predict that before the Alt line ends we'll see a complete WTF Alt that's like Sky Lynx or something.

I would think that eventually Soundwave's cassettes would get tired of being in his chest all the time and would want to be their own bot.  Was Soundwave and his minions relationship ever explained in the comics? *never read the comic and the show wasn't that deep to say the least*

They weren't used much really, other than the first four issues. Except Ratbat who was not Soundwave's minion at all and was the leader of the Cons at one point.

How the hell was Ratbat leader?!?! Did he at least have a humanoid body? I thougth the cartoon was crazy. Seaspray turning into a human makes more sense.

First off his robot mode was huge, second he was the Decepticon's economic advisor, and after both Megs and Shockwave failed to bring in the amount of fuel needed he took over.

 

Some of Budiansky's ideas and plot points were a bit goofy, when Furman took over the comic became much darker and "mature."

You mean his Bat mode was Huge? I'm just trying to envision this, cause like I said, I didn't read the comic. I'm just trying to imagine a Giant Bat that turns into a Cassette and has no arms being the leader of the insane decepticons.

He looked just like the show version. But trust me it didn't seem that odd in the comics that he was the leader. Especially since there was a new leader every few issues it seemed.

Wow, this "Rumble" is a new low for so many reasons...until the repaints are anounced (say...Blitzwing, Leader1, Astrotrain, and Stakeout).  If this (and more 3rd repaints hooray) is what we have to look forward to, Hasbro (and Takara, if they had a hand in this) can just cancel the line right now as far as I'm concerned.  Toyfair'd better show something phenominal because I haven't been this underwhelmed since Machine Wars ended and we were saddled with Beast Machines.  And now I will likely be proclaimed The Devil ^TM for having a negative opinion in 3...2...1...
