so when they make soundwave, is he going to be a car carrier? that seems to be the dirrection they are going with makeing EVERYONE a car

It's a line of CARS, of course everyone's a car. I'd think a car carrier would certainly be cool, but too huge and expensive just like the idea of Alternator Jets.

 

Maybe a tow truck Soundwave?

X-Brawn was bad enough having half of a car hanging off of one arm... this one has half of a car hanging off of EACH arm.  Totally lame.

 

But, at least it's a different design idea finally.  How many ways can you turn a car into a robot, anyway? :roll

G1-Cybertron have figured out dozens of ways. C-Red alert transformation is one unique I can think of.

That was kinda my point, in an offhand way.  Not all of them were great ideas though, no matter how "unique".  And while there are dozens of different versions, they are mostly variations on the same 4 or 5 designs.  Hood (or trunk) chest, hood (or trunk) feet, shell former RID Prowl style, asymetrical with odd kibble like X-Brawn, or some wierd gimmicky springloaded trick like Cybertron Runamuck and whatever he was remolded from.  Eventually you run out of new ways to do it, and just end up tweaking the same old same old.

Civic looks cool to me....hopefully it comes out here and not just in europe....Its hard to tell if it is the us civic in the picture.

if you read the text it says Si the EU (or at least the UK) get the Type-R spec like the japanese do so thier is more then likly going to have a US release

But the drawing doesn't look "Alternator" to me. It looks cellshaded cartoonish. Might be an actual pic of a new upcoming Transformers-series.

Notice the Falcon has 2 little graphics: "TV" & "New", Rumble has only a "New" graphic. Box art style changes seem to happen a lot, no biggie.

Also notice how the SWTF has the full name of the series printed, and how Rumble doesn't. Implies, to me in any case, that it's not an Alternator.

as interesting an idea as that would be, when was the last time that europe had anything that the US didnt ? i dont remember the last UK exclusive or at least not anything worth talking about since some of the G2 stuff.

It's listed as a "Honda Civic", I wouldn't expect 2 separate officially licensed lines of car Transformers.

The SWTF Falcon is another meh in a line of meh's, so that will be a huge pass.

 

As for Alt Rumble...hm, undecided at this point. It's great to see a new way of transforming him, but it does look like he hasn't got any hands. Also, those lower arms must be heavy. He'd better have some quility ratchet joins in those elbows and shoulders.

 

Will wait for better pics before I make a decision. (Though I will get him of course...)
