So fort max doesnt pass the drop test? Isnt that why we did not get the RID one in the 1st place and I had to import the japanese one?

THe collect theparts thing has been done with the japanese PVC acts before. I dont much care for it because you end up buying figures you dont really like/want to get the chase piece, and YES i know that is WHY they do this kind of thing, I just do not like it  LOL  :-)

hopefully with the success of the transmutate chase fig, maybe hastak will start issuing better collect&build figs.

Can we really call the transmutate a success yet? I mean I think there are a lot more people who grew up with beast wars or collected them that still HAVE their original figs....I know I do and am not buying the reissues since i have misb originals already...I notice in my area that the BW 10th figs are NOT selling very well...they are all still sitting on the shelves...

Whether anyone likes it or hates it, that's their decision...  As for me I'm missing some RID transformers.  This would be a great opportunity to regain some lost time.  Fortress Maximus I really need for my RID collection; and I don't see what's wrong with at least trying something new for once.  It will definitely be a much better idea; rather than just repaints after repaints of Transformers Armada, Energon, and of course CYBERTRON!!!  The repaints of Megatron to Glavatron is getting how can I put this in a way......oh yes....LAME!!!

Fortress Maximus would blow away the competition!!!  Hasbro should try this.  Perhaps maybe even Hasbro would sell Transformers figures like hot cakes for once!!!

Fort Max is one large figure. The cost to modify the packaging alone wouldn't be worth it. To accomodate that, you'd need a hell of a large package.

Not to mention, you'd need to break him up over like 10-15 figures and quite honestly, I don't have the patience for that. Not to mention, distribution would be a total pain in the ass for it all too.

Why not something like Nightbird (or whatever the hell her name was) or for the G1 Neo line, send out pieces of a G1 accurate Arcee and give Hal and his company a run for their money. Wouldn't have to worry about being sued for copyrights and whatnot...especially when the home team actually makes one that knocks it out of the park.

Problem is, transformation is an intricate thing, and would require a parent's help to fully assemble the figure. (Let's face it, a piece you need to assemble and transform...as proven by Hal and team...would require screws and snap together pieces don't provide as much stability.)

There's merit to this already posed idea, but the money doesn't pay for it.

Did I say that it had to be just like the Car Robot or Gen.1 version?  All I said was they should try to mold a new Fortress Maximus about the size of TF Armada Unicron.  Seperate the bot parts into 5 different sets.

Example:  Side- Burn comes with the right leg of FM (RID).  Prowl comes with the left leg.  X- Brawn comes with FM's left arm.  Then there could be two Deluxe sets that could be Optimus Prime (RID) and he could come with the base (his chest you can say) of FM; and Ultra Magnus can come with his right arm.

See it can be possible.  It doesn't have to be those 5; it could be anyone of the RID figures.  The 2 sets of the Deluxe figures could be about the same price as Cybertron Defense Red Alet.  Then the little pakages could be the same price as Cybertron Crumblezone.  Now what's wrong with that?  They can do all this if Hasbro would just take their time; and test them until they are satisfied with the results; and are ready to be shipped across the globe to your favorite stores.

That's still a damn big figure and requires quite a bit of packaging changes!

Unicron's original box (Armada) was not small by any means. It was also thick cardboard to support his weight.

Carded figures would now have to be boxed, driving up the price and they can't stick the pieces with the Mega/Voyager class and Ultra Classes, nor the leader classes.

Why? M/V not the best sellers. Evac, Vector Prime, and Mudflap prove that time and again. Let's not go over Ironhide and his Powerlinx Battles repaint.

Ultras, again not the best sellers. Jetfire is still warming shelves, and now CD RA is helping him as well.

Leaders, such as Prime, Megatron, and Metroplex are a hard sell as well. Prime always sells well, Megatron's iffy, and Metroplex being the 3rd (which is unheard of, and happens to be a first and most likely the last) is one of those buy or don't buy purchases. He's not the most well liked figure, and no one wants to pay for something they won't like just to get a limb of a put together robot that should've just damn well been made in the beginning.

Yeah, anything's possible, anything's feasible, not everything's cost effective and productive.

It all comes down to money, and you all know as well as I do, that if they really wanted FM to come out, someone's pocket would've gotten greased. Money makes the world go round, and when you don't make enough, there's no point in making that item.

Why does anyone actually think RiD deserves a commemorative toyline?

I disagree with al the fort max love here - i wouldnt want one.  But it might be cool to get a smaller OTHER figure that you assemble.  And yes i agree that the G1 Redux line would be better suited for that as well.  Not sure what figure (as i would rather have a REAL Arcee and not a snap together actionmaster, and i dont know who nightbird is)

I also have to point out that the BW 10ths are not selling for Sh** but the SWTF's are flying. But then again - maybe its because the BW S1 figs look terrible. and the SWTFs actualy seem to be decent toys...

If they're going to mold a Supreme-sized Fort Max why not just sell it as a real Supreme?

There's too many practical problems with a piece-wise thing as already mentioned.

Besides those problems, Aaron Archer might like to do a "base-bot", but it seems Hasbro higher-ups aren't as keen on such an idea(based on Archer's comments at Botcon).

Why does anyone actually think RiD deserves a commemorative toyline?

Because I liked it.

It most likly wont, though, since all but maybe 4 of it's molds have been repainted 2 or more times in later lines.  How many of the BW10 figures were repainted outside of BW?
