Build your own Unicron

Recommended Posts

i've thought about this for a long time, but now that Marvel Legends are putting Galactucus and Sentinal pieces with their figures, and the BW 10th anniversary line is doing it with Transmutate, wouldn't it be really really great, if Tf did something similar on a big scale.  Like have Deluxe and up figures come with a piece that may/may not work with the figure itself (like a mini-con or a force chip) but if you get all of them, it makes some huge Transformer, like Unicron or Fort Max (since they already made a cool Unicron figure).

Of course make it so if you buy all the leaders or voyager class figs you have the complete figure, but the delux sizes can have some add on weapons and what not that you can have to make the figure even better.

I just think this would be such an aweseom idea, and I think it is possible.  Think of a Transformer that you esstually put together yourself, with each leg being as tall as Cybertron Megatron

I think it's possible too.

I would love it since I buy all the main line except most repaints anyway.

maybe it should come with repaints, if hasbro don't want them to shelf warm

For all those who never got FM (Fortress Maximus) of RID.  This could be a grand idea...  Just think of it...Beast Wars just hit their 10th Anniversary; and they're releasing repaints of the BW figures that come with parts of Transmu...something.  So why not?  Couldn't RID have repaints come out when they hit their 10th Anniversary; and can't Hasbro create a Fortress Maximus that you collect the pieces from the 10th Annivesary RID figures?  He could stand up to about the size of Unicron; he would also make a great display for TF Collectors.  In my decision, I think this is a swell idea.  The only trouble I could think of is could they come up with a way he could transform into the base mode?  However the real question is, would they even try something like this?

i thinks that would rule, then i could finally have me a fort max

Thanks for agreeing with me Primus001.  It is a GRAND IDEA!!!

Thanks for making this topic Lonecow; no one else would had thought of this.

FORTRESS MAXIMUS! forget Unicron, he's been done.

We need a Fort Max!

I've seen this idea come up before, and the general consensus was that it would be hard to make a good peicewise Fort Max that would pass the drop test, look good, and be transformable.  Even if the parts popped apart, additional engineering would be needed to make sure they wouldn't shatter into sharp peices if dropped.  Hasbro won't release anything that can't pass those tests in assembled form.

Not to mention the fact that it would be hard to make a figure the size and weight of Fort Max hold together if it had pop apart parts.  Anyone who's transformed one knows what I mean, the legs are pretty tight and hard to twist around, due to the weight of the figure that they have to support.

In any case, if they can do it, I would be suprised, but happy for all the people getting one finally.  I would probably get one myself to stand next to my G1 one, especially if the toys were sold only with those parts, not alone.

actually, it's been suggested before.

does the drop test only apply in a store, or would Hasbro's liability extend to falling off a shelf in someone's home?

The drop tests are conducted solely for home safety, in the event that the toy does take a hard fall.  Such is the case with all toy safety tests.
