now weve been getting many homages lately, but not always named after what their mold would have you beleive. sometimes its obvious, sometimes its subtle. the subtle ones are really just a matter of prefference for me anyways. heres a few that ive done.

 

e bulkhead- springer

e dreadwing- scourge

cyb longrack- hauler

shockblast- shockwave

armada powerlinx (brown) thrust- dirge

cyb galvatron- megatron

cyb megatron- gigatron (i think if megs had a brother, thatd be his name)

e prowl- mirage

u inferno- red alert

 

thats all i can think of right now.

To put it simply: yes!

 

Alts and RM usually keep their name, unless I really disagree with the given name (e.g. Alt Wheeljack => Slicer), but all TF's from the main line are renamed. This for one very simple reason: I don't acknowledge the existence of that universe! For me the TF story is: G1 (comics) -> G2 (comics) -> undisclosed period -> BW -> BM. (Big, fat period!)

 

All TF's I buy are fitted into a storyline of my own which takes place several hundreds of years after BM. The original name, bio, techspec, function and alliance are irrelevant. I just do what feels right: U Razorclaw is now allied with the Maximals (Rake), BM Night Slash Cheetor is a Predacon (Cattan), A Predacon is now a Dinobot (Rimrock), to name but a few.

but other than that, my TFs aren't really giving me the "Say my name Starscream" comments enough for me to call them by name.

Japan armada/engon/cybertron have diff name form US.

I change a name if I need to for a comic idea if i have 2 guys of the same mold like armada demolisher and his PL version i would change his name i also change the name of the lower megatron to the latest one example energon megatron would have his name changed for cybertron megatron is leader

Meister becomes Jazz, and I use the Jap names for a few of them (ie. SL Grand Convoy, SL Galvatron, Master Megatron, CR Gigatron, CR Black Convoy, all of the GF Convoys.)

only things like Jazz for the rx-7 shock wave rather then lazerwave or shockblast energon downshift is wheel jack etc

Ive renamed any Convoy-Optimus Prime, Meister-Jazz, I never once dreamed of calling Sideswipe, Lambor. E Shockblast Is Shockblast but Alt Shockblast is Shockwave. I like the name Silverstreak, it makes more sense.
