also a doubleclutch is somthing only realy realy old cars have its when you need to press the clutch one to take it out of gear then move the stick then press the cluch again so i have no clue as to why they would give that name to a sci-fi race car autobot

I was under the impression that this would be a 'Dark' Override, not a Flaming Override.  Those flames are just as bad as the hideous red stripes.  What does Hasbro have against more subdued color schemes?

 

Just please don't let them ruin the Excellion/Hot Shot repaint.

The colors don't exactly do it for me but I like it for the reason that it means fembots are finally getting some real respect.

 

Now before you go crazy on me with the "Override shouldn't be female" stuff I'd just like to explain myself. Override is one of the first fembots in a while who wasn't just a robot sex symbol. You can't tell me that there aren't women who look masculine and do well in male-dominated sports. By creating a main character who's like this we can see that Transformers as a series is opening up to more realistic characterization. Personally I think if Override wasn't a butch macho chick there's no way she could keep her reputation on Speed Planet. If there was just some flighty racer girl who was champion and leader of Speed Planet and no sexism... well it wouldn't be very realistic, now would it? She's tough... there's sexism... its a helluva lot more interesting than that bishonen Nitro Convoy in my opinion.

 

Now as much as I love new-mold upgrades it just wouldn't make sense to give a planet-leader a new body at this point... I mean, if they're just going to get upgraded why give the original the Cyber Planet Key to begin with?

yes you are. Hasbro said at BotCon that the only reason they made Nitro female is that Cartoon Network said that they needed more females in the cartoon to meet PC requirements. but i'd still like to get this repaint and use him as Nitro Convoy so he and Override can be two seperate characters. also, notice the autobot symbol on his gun so he's probably not an evil repaint.

Never said it mattered who's decision it was. As long as we're getting something like this here and kids are buying it, Hasbro might learn a lesson about characterization.

 

I always kind of thought that Hasbro was still in the "OMG its a fembot" thing when they came up with the Ransack having a crush on Override crap in their website that really just doesn't make any sense.
