Now before you go crazy on me with the "Override shouldn't be female" stuff I'd just like to explain myself. Override is one of the first fembots in a while who wasn't just a robot sex symbol. You can't tell me that there aren't women who look masculine and do well in male-dominated sports. By creating a main character who's like this we can see that Transformers as a series is opening up to more realistic characterization. Personally I think if Override wasn't a butch macho chick there's no way she could keep her reputation on Speed Planet. If there was just some flighty racer girl who was champion and leader of Speed Planet and no sexism... well it wouldn't be very realistic, now would it? She's tough... there's sexism... its a helluva lot more interesting than that bishonen Nitro Convoy in my opinion.

Dude, it's not because Override SHOULDN'T be female, it's that Override ISN'T female. It has a male's body(100%, no debate on this), but Hasbro slapped a female voice on it.

Granted, the toy's package art(and planet map art) makes Override completely female, but on the show, Override is just a male with a very high-pitched voice. If Hasbro wanted to make this female thing belivable, they should have altered the char model from NC's.

Sheesh, at least Stryka was originally female...

Oh and BTW... love the new paintjob on that mold :thumb

Hasbro had nothing to do with the female voice thing, Blame CN for that one only...

*blames CN*

IMO, Nitro is one of the most uninteresting characters in GF, I don't know why people defend him so much. Making him a girl adds some substance to the character. He races, he wins, and finally loses. There was no real depth and he continued to fall into the background as his talents didn't really seem essential. As a female we can see how hard her struggle was. CN may have made the decision for Political Correctness but I say it turned out well in the end. Like we needed anymore stereotypical male Transformers anyway :roll

And don't give me this "The mold was male first" crap and expect it to change anything... it doesn't...

I'm not defending him as a character. I'm just pointing out the strange logic needed to take a male character, slap a female voice on him, then say "oh no, she's a girl". Nothing to do with NC/Override as a character.

And yes, it makes a huge difference that the mold/char design was originally male, because males and females are noticably different(if you haven't noticed already)

Okay so the mold definitley looks like a guy, but  despite Override as a character is more interesting as a female. But that's not to say I'd prefer if they had made her more effeminate. Obviously if she had some slender babe even if she was tough there's no way she could keep her respect as Planet Leader and Champion.

So the mold isn't perfect but it does make sense. Nitro Convoy comes and goes with the series, but Override is a character I'll remember in twenty years no matter how little Hasbro intended for it to happen.

Yet again, the Japanese get all the good stuff...

I don't like this repaint.

I wish we got Dark Nitro Convoy.

I don't get your logic that she'd loose respect if she had a female body instead of a male's. Does a robo-Night Viper make you important? o.O

(and so I don't get off-topic: I like this repaint better than Dark NC, actually)
