Um, he was a dinosaur. It is believed that dinosaurs had small brains. That's probably just about as far as they thought it out. :wtf

I think that the "Big Stupid brute" archtype was invented by nerds.....

So sayeth the man with 3000-odd posts on a Transformers forum...  :tftongue

Oh well, Grimlock will still always be the pea-brained Idjit that got all the Autobots killed in the last UK comic of G1.

Yay for The Last Autobot i suppose.

On a side note, a firend of mine just found a mint G1 Grimlock (and G1 Bruticus) in his attic.

Git  :redface

I think a TF's intelligence, or lack thereof, is dependent on the body, just like a variety of other characteristics like power, dexteerity, flexibility, etc. And they don't necessarily have a choice in these factors.

For instance, According to the DW comics, Grimlock was around in WWI, just like the other Dinobots. He was destroyed, and then brought back through Wheeljack's creation. One could suppose this was done with the Matrix. Grimlock was a lot like his previous self, but with reduced intelligence. His spark(soul) was hindered by his body.

This can be brought to the BW universe as well. While the original crew got to choose their forms, the new Protoforms couldn't choose theirs. It was dependent upon the creatures around them, which then chose a great many of their characteristics. Airrazor's flight, Inferno's need to protect his "colony", Silverbolt's tracking ability.

Personally, I like the character of Grimlock, and I think it would be beneficial to the character to give him more intelligence, G1 version anyway. Not super intelligence, just enough to give him deceptively good battle tactics while retaining a speech impediment. "Me Grimlock say Slag take left, Sludge take right, Snarl and Swoop come with Me down center. We catch them completely un-wares!"

Now I dont have to be the butthole to ruin a thread.

How was it hindered by his body?

Becuse he was built out of spair parts, and his voice box probably isn't as sofisticated as the other autobot's

You're saying Grimlock is dumb because he has a "Made In U.S.A." voicebox? Then what the hell happened in "Grimlock's New Brain"? The electrons reconfigured his voicebox?

That's only Optimus 3000's theory. I personaly think that Grimlock was an idiot becuse Vecter Sigma wan't part of his creation.

Your theory makes a hell of a lot more sense.
