Eh. I like the idea of Primus and Unicron as gods representing good and evil. I feel that Primus's good was necessary to balance out Unicron's evil.

I'm sick to death of yin-yang good and evil balances. Not everything has to be completely equal.

I realize the irony in what I'm about to say, but that's one of the things I liked about Beast Machines; the good guys were the underdogs for thr first time since.... ever?

I just think they completely dropped the ball with Unicron post-TF:TM. They could have spent the third season on this big mystery like "where did Unicron come from" and "how did the Matrix kill him" and all that.... it could have been awesome. But all we got was a ghey space monkey. :grr

But all things considered, I have to say that I like Furman's explanation as much as anyone else's. At least it's coherent.

I just wish the show had an on going continuity that didn't contridict itself. I like watching the show but I hated that there was never any established personalities. Every episode was a wild card. You never knew how a character would react form show to show.

Any hoo, Primus. I like the toy. I dont think it's fair that this "Good guy" toy Looks far more menacing than Unicron has ever looked. When I really think about it I guess I have to go with the first post. It seems Weird, an inhabited planet that becomes a robot. If Primus was a big dumb bot like A+E Uni or didn't have a mind at all, then maybe it wouldn't seem so weird.

teal is not menacing JMO

^You're goofy

I liked the comic book story though.  Nice touch.  Something to read but that is it.

Primus couldnt stup Unicron, remember.

So he mimicked Unicrons ability (transforming) to combat him, and in the process reduced his own power so much that he soon became unable to make any "godly" change upon the universe.

It'll be nice to see Uniron laying the smackdown on a robot Primus. (yeah, because Unicron will win  :redface  )

i grew up with unicron. i have certain... loyalties for lack of a better word. besides, wasnt the creation of all transformers and the matrix supposed to be the thing that stood in unicron way and/or stop him? whats the point of all them if there will just be another giant to stop him?

Besides the obvious (the creationg of another planet-robot for the sake of $$$  :tftongue ) I think what they want to to give life to the comic books' origins of Unicron and Cybertron.

...everyones opinion of the unicron toy has dropped immensly.

I don't know. I have not been checking the price increase of TF toys over the years.

well... how is a giant robot supposed to be inhabitable anyways. unicron had no inhabitents, unless you consider the trapt ones on the inside. so how many bots are going to die when primus transforms?

You know, I tend to think of Unicron and Primus as amoral, but if I were to assign who is "good" and who is "evil", I would say Unicron is good and Primus is evil. Unicron tries to bring order to the universe via the destruction of all things capable of warfare (i.e. life) while Primus sits there and do nothing while the Cybertronians waged war for millions of years.

i used to think of him as amoral as well. but now that we have primus, the whole good evil thing has been thrust upon us. and while you do make a point, if youre going to go that far, you might as well say that megatron is good and prime is evil. peace through tirany.

I always thought Optimus Prime is just as evil as Megatron.

Thats a fair point. It all changes depending wether you look at it from the series or the comic or whatever

Is there any reason you've got stalin for a sig?

Stalin is one of the gods of the modern pantheon.

Isn't Cybertron supposed to be evacuated, due to the threat of the black hole that is Unicron? So the only bots on the planet would be the ones effecting the transformation of Primus, and should therefore be safe.

Unless you count the robotic vermin who have grown VERY nasty. Then again, when's the last time you felt bad for killing a cockroach?
