Ok guys, hopefully this is the right board for this. My father is working with this group of Japanese workers, and one of them is going back to Japan for a bit, and then coming back in January. He's offered to bring stuff back for people.

 

I've already decided that I'd like to see if he'd bring back a Sonic Bomber for me, but I was wondering if you guys might have another suggestion. I just thought Sonic Bomber would be awesome because of the chrome, but if there's some sort of exlcusive I don't know about that rocks, let me know, seriously!

 

Also, if anyone knows what the USD equivalent is over there, so I can properly reimburse him for the object, that'd be great. And we need to hurry, guys! He leaves Thursday!

i'd say if he can primus and if you can get soundwave or the tru soinc convoy set whcih is about 150$us

From what I've heard, it may be best to get at MP-02 (Masterpiece Ultra Magnus) because apparently, they're shelfwarmers there.

due to the pricey and rareness of godfire convoy set, id get sonic convoy. id expect him to be just as expensive in a year or two, then youll be kicking yourself. other than that id get mp02. even though everyone says they hate him, everyone would prolly buy him if he was warming a shelf and was more affordable.

How much would an MP-02 run me, do you think? I was thinking something more like 20 bucks, but I'd gladly dip into savings for an MP-02.

^These are very hard to find unless he goes some very specific used toy shops in Osaka or Tokyo.  I wouldn't recommend them.

 

MP-02 can still be found in many Toys R Us, but it is getting harder and harder.  Plus, it is unlikely you will be able to get for less than $75.

 

I would stick with just getting Sonic Bomber.  The EX-02 Sonic Convoy set is sold out everywhere.  Soundwave is also basically sold out everywhere that I have been to.

 

Stick to Binaltech, BT asterisk, and very recent takara reissues, mainline Galaxy force.  It will be a lot of work for him to find other more rare items.

Ok, so how much would Sonic Bomber run me in USD? I need to know so I can reimburse him the proper amount.

 

As for the Asterisks, I'm not interested in the BTs to be honest.

Sonic Bomber is listed on Japanese retailer e-Hobby for 4410 yen- which is about $37 USD.  He's about the same on Amazon.co.jp- so I'd guess that's about typical.
