Only the mold already cost me over $80,000 , not mention material fee, producing fee, assembling fee, boxing fee Etc.

As I said, I just design it in computer using catia and pro/engineer, and find a factory to make the mold according to the 3d model.

Is that $80,000 USD, Yuan, or Yen?

If it is yuan or yen, I think this trailer should be made 1 year ago even earlier.

He has the peices that were made for a mock up trailer. Hes got everything that is needed to be sure that it IS for real... So what if its an upscaled version of the orriginal??? I for one, love this trailer and WILL be buying one. And I dont think that there is any real legal issues because of the fact that it IS an upscale toy, and that it was modified to fit a slightly different connection. Anywho - back to the topic... I think that regardless if this is a prototype, or a knockoff, or a kitbash - it provides a solution to what a lot of people wanted. It's a transformable Optimus Prime trailer that goes with MP 20th.

 

It looks pretty cool IMO, and if the price wasn't so steep I would own one.

I'm not convinced yet but i do need to apologize to Dalianjj for my comments towards this being real or fake

 

But till i have one in hands and see what's like i'll judge otherwise

the trailer looks exactly like the pic on the box. is the box custom? And if so, how did you do the chrome lettering? it looks so professional.

The justtoys one came with a proper box, is it crazy to assume that maybe other people in the world can make them too?!? Have you not seen the hundreds of custom boxes that people make around that look amazing, his is like them except mass printed along with the product. Just a side note, chrome lettering is a printing process called foil stamping. Its simply treated as an extra colour pass during printing. It is possible in customs too! ..... but once again (cos you probably still don’t get it) its NOT a custom/kb.

 

Don’t get me wrong some of your questions were valid like asking for size comparisons etc, id also like to see  :thumb but when you throw them in amongst the ones that come across as attacks they seem to loose their validity.

That "crappy 3d model" just happens to be fantastic, he hasn’t rendered it which is why the preview looks kinda lo-fi and the optimus truck part is obviously just there for size/proportion purposes (no need to properly build that in 3d) and yes the whole point of it is to make it exactly the same(dead on) as the original, that part is definitely not hard to re create in a 3d programme, just need original trailer and a ruler.

First off saying  that you built a kitbash/custom/repaint and it was manufactured in a plant in china is like having someone else take your driving test and claiming you got a 100 percent on the test. That being the case, maybe I should have tfmaster build me a KB, and PROUDLY display it as my very own, which I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO  proud to have "built".  :rofl

 

Most of us here don't have access to a factory with equipment. And if all he's doing is hocking a trailer from a company in china, regardless of whether or not he paid to have it done, then kindly post  in "The End cap" topic, AND NOT HERE.

 

Secondly, I asked the opinions of five people before I went ahead with this, and they are people respect A GREAT DEAL. Also, my high horse? You only have 45 posts or so, and you're trying to pull rank on ME? I may not be an engineer, but I can do more with a serrated steak-knife and a chunk of styrene than you can do with an Autocad setup, CNC machinery and all the technology from JPL. I'm not about to pick a side, I didn't even know this was being made.

 

Personally I think it looks really good but so does the knockoff or whatever the hell it is. Considering how much money dalianjj aparently invested into this project I personally think a good way to settle this would be to get a Knock off and compare it side by side. If they're identacle I really don't know what to say. Seeing as they're both constructed entirely differently there should be obvious differences between plastic/material quality/durability.

 

As for the construction of the individual parts. If it was all molded in a factory can you give an indeapth description of the process. I used to work with a lot abs plastics and may have an idea what went into this.
