thoughts on changing a transformer in the reissue

Recommended Posts

Just wondering everyone’s thought on the reissue’s that are changed to be more cartoon accurate. If you already had the figure in its original colors would you buy a reissue that was more cartoon accurate (ex. I had the original Japanese Starscream reissue, but when the collection reissue came out with a lighter blue and a yellow cockpit I bought it, I also bought both collection Astrotrain and E-hobby Astrotrain). So what are your thoughts should they be reissued exactly as they were in the 80’s or should they have colors changed to better match the cartoon.

I think they should better match the cartoon. I'm disappointed they didn't paint the seeker's eyes.

they should have painted the gray on the face also.

Starscream should have had red eyes and a grey face. Being they remolded Bumblebee's face, why didn't they remold Huffer and Gears too. I really wonder if they will do anything for Ironhide and Ratchet. If ever they get a chance to do Skyfire, then make him no longer looking like a Macross fig.

I don't buy bricks unless i'm building a house.

Haha! I generally agree, but I bought Inferno because he was on sale, and I'm very pleased. He's a brick, but he brings back memories.

I favor show accurate modifications. I tend to buy the eHobby anime versions of the re-issues.

More show accurate would make a reissue more desireable to me also.

Although altering the figures wouldn't really fall under "reissue" as its more or less a new design, I"m all for it. Ironhide, Ratchet, and Skyfire are the first ones that come to my mind, but cartoon accurate colors(give Red alert the red helmet he really has, and how about actually having a streak on Bluestreak) also appeal to me. And the way I see it is that one of the limitations on the reissue series is that Hasbro and/or Takara no longer has many of the molds, but cartoon accurate "reissues" would require new molds and such a limitation would no longer exist, so i say do it. :tfgrin

Others that come to mind are:

Tracks-face instead of faceplate

GALVATRON-anime colors damn it!

Springer in more GREEN!!
