Your teasing me. I so wanted one of these bots.

My next project involves a tow-truck. I'm thinking about naming him Towline. It'll be for a contest in April, which will allow me to really take my time.

Well WV, that's quite a list you have there as well as some really cool ideas for variety for kitbashes.  I've been reading some of you other threads and it sounds like you have a few things cooking on your end too.  I can't wait to see pics when you get em!

 

I can only speak for me, but my main thrust in kitbashing is creating new Alternators for my collection.  Very early on I saw the need to strengthen my Decepticon forces, so I started making plans to try to focus on Decepticon Alternators.  I noticed Seeker cars was on your "not to do" list, however I have been working on 7 Seeker Imprezas for a while now.  My count is 5 of the planned 7 I have complete.  I just love em too!  I'm just having a ball!  I also completed a Shackblast (reminscent of the Radio "Shack" KO of the G1 Shockwave) several months ago and am going to take pics after I get my new digicam this Christmas (of which I am very excited about!).  I also made a Brakedown reminscent of his G1 counterpart "Breakdown" to make Stunticons (only need to either make Dead End or Wildrider [i made a Wildrider head for the Alt Dead End body] to make the 4 cars). 

 

I can also say that I have a ton of ideas planned; I am just very busy with grad school full time now (esp. now with finals).  I intend to stay with a car theme for quite some time now, but those are just my preferences.

 

All I am saying is that this is what makes me happy and I have found (for me) that's the most important thing.  I would LOVE to see all of these ideas manifested and posted on TFans.  I remain excited seeing everyone's projects; they are all so inspiring. 

 

This board is what got me off of my hypothetical booty and behind a disassembed TF; this month marks my 1 yr anniversary as a "kitbasher" and I get on every day just to look at everyone's projects for further inspiration.  Everyone here has been very receptive, constructive, and helpful to me, and I am in much graditude. I think it is posts like these that get all of us to think more about making more ambitious and cooler projects. 

 

I'm still just excited about all of the projects I want to do and have going.  My excitement around my Seeker Imprezas promted me to scratchbuild arm cannons, of which I am also really excited about.  If some of these projects listed (or others not listed) are what you want to go for, I'll be checking still everyday on here to see em.  In the meantime, I'll be finishing up my Seeker Alts having just as much fun.  And if anyone wants Seeker "Alternators" jets, just make em! :tfgrin

I've always liked the idea of Masterpiece Combiners.

Just ideas.  Haven't done anything with them yet.

 

I think I'm in the same mind set as a lot of other kitbashers.  I just want to expand my Alt collection.  Hastak takes too long!

I'm actually in the process of making them...and I'm pretty sure I was inspired by FGs photoshops.

I don't do Alts yet (don't yet have the confidence & experience, and I don't want to make one that Has/Tak will make as well), but here's a list I plan on doing:

- Treadshot (Silverstreak/Smokescreen hybrid)

- A Powerlinx Hotshot (Smokescreen - streetracer)

- Detritus (Hound/Swindle hybrid)

- Fixit (Wheeljack/Grimlock hybrid)

- Seawatch (Swindle/Hound hybrid)

- Stakeout (Meister)

- Blastcharge (Swindle)

- Ratchet (Fake Hound)

- Blackjack (Prowl)

- Nightbeat (blue Prowl); loved AK's version so much that I want one myself)

- Sideburn: reshelling a Meister/Shockwave with a 70's car, much like C Downshift

 

This leaves me with Decepticharge (2x) meister (1x), Prowl (1x), Wheeljack (1x), Grimlock (1x), some hound & Swindle (=> Swerve??) for which I still have to find a purpose. I was planning on making an Artfire (CR-Rid Hotshot) from Meister, but now Hasbro is already doing something similar with Ricochet from the Subaru).

 

But as I said, they're all plans. I still have to start doing them.

ALTERNATOR:  A transformer that uses a car or other vehicle as the basis, with high-definition details and extened poseability. Not necesserily G1 accurate, but reflects the SPIRIT of the character.

 

MASTERPIECE: A transformer that is as close to the original cartoon character as possible, and can still transform into a convincing replica of it's vehicle/ alternate mode. Poseability  is also high.

 

And Hunter, MP ravage would NOT have to play as a cassete, but it would certainly be interesting if he did. :D

So my Brawn is a Masterpiece?? Um......Ok....cool.
