I liked his character on the show, had no clue how the toy would be...picked it up today at targt and I really like him. He is simple yet very cool.

Backstop has good characterization on the cartoon and i'm sort of a completist when it comes to show characters. besides, the only real problem i have with him are his legs but i'm not an articulation junkie :P

I'm usually a freak for articulation, detail and scale, but for some reason this little Happy Meal cast-off really grew on me the moment I opened him.  It's kinda like he's from the Island of Misfit Toys from the old Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer show.  He's a great little rhino and worthy of some respect in my book :thumb

When I first saw him, I was like WTF?, but he has grown on me a lot since then. His robot mode is definitely different but it has a certain charm to it. I like his character on the show, so that helps too.

Awsome. I'm not the only one who thinks Backstop is actually pretty cool. :clap

Haven't picked him up yet but really hope to in the near future. I can't see myself liking him more than Undermine though. Undemine is spot on for articulation, and detail where as Backstop's head is just a red block with no real definable detail. Also I have ever intention of posing the little guy in bot mode as I do with Undermine. When compared to Energon's flimsy 1 step transformation Cruelock Undermine is easily superior imo. :thumb

If I were to get him, I'll wait til all the online retailers to have the GF ver on Clearance sale.  have a rhino w different color plastic... that's just bad.  What' are you thinking HASBRO?

Eh, I wouldn't go so far as to say that. I like Backstop more than Thundercracker or Overide, but Undermine is a sweet bot. I love his alt mode.

And as for if I will buy anything with a TF logo on it, no. I won't. I stated above that I usually don't buy anything without knees, so for me to buy this character, I knew what I was getting into. I bought him with full knowledge of what he was like.

I also picked up Wreckloose, and he's an odd toy a best. I'm still trying to decide whether or not I like him. I'll be honest, it's the clown shoes. They're a throw off. He's got a great alt mode, with crest and without, and he looks intimidating if you leave his legs together. Almost like BM Jetstorm, wasn't it? A Spiked Evil Machine that will F you up.

On top of all that, I grabbed the TRU Starscream/VP two pack, which I haven't opened yet. I'm not liking SS's colors, and I haven't decided what to do with the VP.*

*Maybe I do have a problem. . .

How can you like Backstop more than Thundercracker.....I can understand Override...but Thundercracker?

I liked Wreckloose, he's out there, but he's really cool!

Two words, YOUSHOULDDEFINATELYLIKE Starscream!

Heheheh

Backstop is seeming to become the "Showgirls" of the Transformers lines.

He's so bad, he's good!

Also, I DO like Starscream. I have two Vector Primes because I really wanted the TRU exclusive, even if his colors are funky.

Thundercracker is just a really poorly designed toy. He could have been a lot better, but they just didn't put the effort into him that they could have. He's got very limited articulation, and he doesn't hold his transformation well. I suppose the most disappointing thing about him is the difference between what he is and what he could have been.

Overide, however, I'm considering giving my "Oh no, it was battle damaged through the use of an entire brick of Black Cat fireworks" treatment.
