MP-XX MEGATRON 91% COMPLETE

Recommended Posts

i think the Trigger is a given considering hes only just started....

also i think even if the altmode is a little lego looking - its no worse than MP-Prime's panel-licious trukk mode...

Hunter

I agree. The alt mode for MP Optimus Prime was a little weak with all those panels. Still, impressive engineering nonetheless.

Can we get this in mass release please.

Seriously though, good and awsome job man.  Now, my question is that's not the final paint job right?

Your MP Megatron's transformation scheme reminds me of G1 Megatron, except it seems like your version has the head tucked inside the barrel, and his hips had to be folded, a la reverse Magamatron's Landsaur type, and the arms are still folded and swiveled like G1 Megatron.

Is the final version going to have the feet being able to tuck inside the legs, or are you going to make them detachable and make them attach it the Megatron's forearms like you have now?

Looks really good!

you have a great sense of observation there satanstorm as for the feets i,ll probably leave it like this, because i think it makes a great rear-pistolet effect... of course it will be refined and will defenitly look better then this...

holy hell. i know you said your creation was able to transform, i just didnt expect it to look that good in gun mode. and at the same time i thought it would be to big for holding. but wow. amazing man!

i,m happy that you like it ...and i always kept in mind to have the gun at a good size... no sense having a bazooka right ?

did u use a mp prime to start with? that is amazing

yes i did use a mp optimus and it broke my heart doing that... the only pieces that i,ve use at this point are the hand system and head (heavily modified of course) and i hope to use the rest on some later project....

where do the rest of the lower legs and the feet go in alt mode?

and whats that little piston looking thing coming out of the bottom of the barrel?

did you decide to use a square or round barrel?

the rest of the lower leg will merge togheter to build the rear extension of the gun.. the design is not clear yet but will be soon.... the feets got at the upper rear of the top of the gun....

the piston is part of the mechanism that allow megatron to turn into a gun and vice-versa...

for the barrel it,s still unclear what king it will be but the will be a silencer attached to it so squarred or round wont make much difference....

also there will be a laserbeak caracter that i will be building that will become part of the gun....

when i 1st heard of this project i thoght i was a pipe dream and could never happen but ive been proved wrong if you can add a trigger and barrel and then cover up the exposed lego of the sides it would simply rock HARD

thanks ;) i too was not sure at the start of the projects allot of innovations have come as i was building it ,no plans just ideas......and the entire process at this point has been a hell of a joyride... when you resolve a problem then you create 2 more problems ...and so on.... but almost everything as been worked out and hopefully i,ll have a great mp megatron to show real soon....

the lego parts might be changed or they,ll be well hidden... there will definitly be a trigger and NO DETAIL will be put aside.... all will be done accordingly and within reasonable limits....

well i will hopefully have somefor sale next year but for now i,m still concentrating at getting this one done and all of it,s problems resolved...and for the paint job... hum you dont like it that way ? lol no it will have a great paint job when it,s finished...

so i hope it answer some of your questions ... and if you have any other please feel free to post them ;)

I s hope that I can afford one of these when you deside to sell..... I mean seriously... it would so rock to have a G1 looking bot mode thats in scale with Prime...

well i hope that your wish will come true.... now for the latest update... here are finally pictures of the trigger system... notice that it has little impact on the robot mode..... a really hard thing to position and make it so it does,nt get in the way of anything else.....

and last the robot mode that like i said has not been affected by the trigger system (it,s all integrated...)

It's clever how you got the trigger itself to slide into the "knee". I am guessing you are going to install a spring mechanism of some sort  there to let the trigger spring back into place in gun mode, and let it stayed locked inside the leg in his robot mode.

I'm curious about two things:

The trigger housing in gun mode - when you fold it into his crotch area, I am guess that the "T" torso/crotch assembly is already reinforced with styrene, right? Did you have to sculpt away the difference between the depth of the trigger housing and the torso, or did you just left that torso open (I can't tell from his robot mode picture.)

Also, are you planning to make that "T" cross piece (the waist, I suppose) fold inwards a bit so that piece don't jut out when you have him in gun mode?

Great work!

GOOD LORD!!!

and will these somehow be custom produced in the future? hehe

sigh... i swear once i finish my studies and take in 2 months of pay... i'm ordering that Ultra Magnus trailer (i bought 2 magnus just coz i saw your trailer!!!)

yes theses should be custom made in the future ...but they will be extremly limited since the construction of one of  theses will take a very long time... and most of the parts cannot be molded so it needs to be scratch built at more then 90% by my estimate....

as for the magnus trailers , there should be plenty for anyone who wish to buy one....

thanks ...as for a spring trigger, i,m not sure that this will be done... on the prototype at least since the space that i have to work is very limited....

yes i needed to sculpt away the difference in the inner-thigh and the "o" ring folds in the back of the robot....

as for the rest.. time will tell..... ;)
