Not a bad find for a dollar.  How many minutes is it?

i bought it a month ago thinking i found something 'special'.  i watch the whole thing, and by that i mean fast forwarding though it.  it cost $1.05, wasted 5 minutes of my time, and i still felt ripped off.  if there was a way to get my $1.05 back i'd take it.  if you see Defenders of Space on the self, keep walking. it is not worth the money it costs, and since it cost only $1.05, that's saying a lot.

I dis agree, what more do you expect for a $1.00 dvd??

i'd like it to be at least as good as a fandub

There are some things that need to be considered.  This was made a long time

ago so the animation/voice acting is crude, which is right in line with alot of

old anime.  This dvd is not great by any means, I'm just happy I have a

pre-transformers toon and I only had to give up $1.00. :thumb

the animation don't bother, its just that the voice acting hurt so much.

that is my only reason i could not enjoy it.

I got my French copy from a guy on AOL back in the day for $20 for a crappy-vision dub of a dub, from pal converted to NTSC...so $1 for a crystal clear, badly dubbed into English and Diaclone history...

yea its worth a freaking buck.

You gota kinda look beyond what you see.

Picture first off what the Diaclone series could have been.  Starblazers like fleets with robots here to stomp on people.  Followed by robot vehicles that can use things like rocket punch to smash through space ships (never done on TF's, not by inferno at any rate)

And yea, the slow motion transform either was done so to not confusse the audience that would say "HEY, where'd the robot with the fire engine chest go???"  OR It should have been accompanied by the Steve Austin bionic sounds.  Na na na na na na...bob bob bob bob bob bob...

Screen grabs from this show and Diatron 5 might make the foundation to a 1/2 decent comic...with a good story on Diaclone.

Oh yeah.  'Off-White Base'(complete with launching Zakus & other ZEON MobileSuits!)  is just one of the MANY Homages/BlatantRipOffs featured in DefendersOfSpace....

Anyone who's seen a Lot of 'Classic' Anime will recognize most every other Mech / Ship

in the show as 'Borrowed' from other series'.

For a buck, it's worth a laugh....Pop it in on 'Game-Night' after a few drinks & you'll be rolling on the floor.

Then there was the series involving Roadbuster as Callibur, and whirl.

comic MANGA for Diaclone (yes diaclone) Also big color catalogs of the toys.

Tokuso Kihei Dorvack featured Roadbuster as VV-54AR Mugen Calibur, Whirl as VH-64MR Ovelon Gazette. Also featured the vehicle known as Tulcas.

The manga for Diaclone came from the toys released by Joustra in France.
