sorry still getting used to these forums :tfhuh

im 17 and ive also been persecuted for my fandom of Transformers. My story is very similar to many others. You get your first Tf when youre in the third grade, but all is happy when two years later they stop making them, and that just makes get all teed off. But, now all this time later im still collecting although EVERYTHING these daysa cost and arm and a leg. I really dont what those "other" people think. do you have the same opinion?

Truthfuly who cares what you do . its not like its any thing to do with anyone else.

Their is always going to be someone that wont like what your doing and thouse people are dumb

I'm 34 and started collecting again about 3 years ago at the end of the RID line when a guy at work got me back into colleting.

I sold most all my bots back when i was about 20 years old and had 3 girlfriends (girls cost to much when dating) and i only saved ones i relly like from G1 and ones they had at toys r us before they even called em transformers.

I get called a nerd by some...most people think it's cool cuz they remember em and wish they had the ones they used to have.

I don't care what people think of me anyways.

And when i started makeing my own handmade transformers the ones who called me a nerd for collecting them have come to admire my handywork.

So do what you want..not only in what you decide to collect but in everything..you will be a much happier person. :)

P.S. my wife loves alternators and 20th prime..

my mom thought i was weird and "unique" until she went to toysrus and found 2 guys drooling over transformers. they were talking "nerd-speke" (a la trekkie-ism, if you will) and at first she thought they were shopping for some kid. then one blurted out how cool some figure was and how it'd look in his collection, and my ma just had to ask if they really were buying these for themselves. now she doesnt think it too weird, but she's still a bit leery, lol.

Sure some people will think you're a nutcase for spendig your money on yesterdays toys, but as long as you're happy with your hobby, I don't see a problem.

I collect for my fiancee, her father banned toys for her when she was a child so I'm building a collection of TF's for her because she saw the movie almost two years ago for the first time and loved it, now she loves TFs and since I like them as well, then it's easy for me to get the collection for her and try them out.

There are plenty of people think it's odd that I buy TF's with me being 24, I'm supposed to be like other 24 year old males in my area and spend my money on drink, drugs, smoking, sports, cars and junk food, but I find collecting TF's and giving my fiancee even more to smile about more worthwhile. I don't care what people think to my buying TF's, they aren't happy, so what, at least my collecting isn't killing me off slowly and painfully.
