Ugh!  For going away to college and discovering my childhood toys gone upon return.

Having my house burn down and loosing 95% of my G1 Transformers.  Grimlock and Rodimus wwere the only survivors.. kind of ironic when you think about it. (If you relate my house fire to Unicron destroying cybertron.)

That's seldom good.  Sorry to hear about the loss. :tdown

When I was a kid, I thought it would be best to put my Transformers collection away. I had them all displayed in a book case in my room. By then I pretty much was all about TFs, no more SW or Joes for me. All the data cards, leftover points, catalogs and instructions in box. I believe I was about to start 8th grade and my thinking was that my room should be toy free. There was only one guy I knew that collected TFs. But he was a year older and had left elementary school for high school.

Anyway, I talk to my dad about it and he says it is a not a bad idea since I am getting older. He offers to put them in the attic once I package them up. So that night I put them all back in alt mode and put them a big trash. I leave it in the middle of my room and go to bed. The next day I come home after soccer, the bag is gone. I ask my dad if he put in the attic and he says no. My stepmom says that our new maid threw them out. The maid thought I no longer wanted them since they were in a trash bag. I FREAK OUT. The next day our maid tells me she is sorry and that next time she'll ask me.

While in high school, I was over at my maid's home and guess what I see laying around her house....my old tfs all banged up and missing pieces (along with other stuff that used to belong to me or my sister). So then I realized what really happened. Our maid asked my stepmom if she could have the toys and my stepmom said yes. In the end, the tfs were played by someone who couldn't afford to have them and when I saw them all beat up that is exactly what i thought.

But sometimes I wonder, what would have happened if I did not use that damn trash bag...

that sounds sucky on so many levels, especially since two people lied to you about what happened to them

My Local TRU Had All The G1 Reissues On Sale For 60-75% Off Last Christmas And I Passed On Them. (And I Mean All Of Them) Still Kicking MySelf In The Ass. :tfmad

:tfdance

seeing a "original" Machine Wars Starsceam at a Kay Bee toys five years ago. I only had enough money to choose between him and BW Cheetor. You can guess what I decided to buy......

And Missing out on a reissue Ultra Magnus when it first came out. At least i scored Prime

Oh yeah, thanks for reminding me:

I saw basically the entire Machine Wars line dirt cheap and didn't buy any of it.  I really regret not picking up at least one.  Now it's hard to get them even on Ebay!

I suppose you could also look at it another way; some other poor unfortunate soul was able to enjoy these toys as well.

Being six year old, seeying at a store a G1 Slag, then not able to convice both mom and my sugar-aunt to buy it for me.

Wow.. hmm.. I did see a complete reflector in a shop once for $150 .. I'm not really too keen on the guy though so I suppose I don't reget it.

Another shop had all the G1 mail away characters like Downshift, Overdrive, Camshaft -etc- fairly cheap.. I do sort of regret that though.

I regret skipping on Alt Meister as many times as I did.. I finally got the guy, after literally months of tracking.

.. and I do have to say, sometimes I wish I was a kid again so I could actually enjoy the mainline more. But then I wouldn't have any money to buy stuff.. :lol
