This is indeed one of the best Prime molds in existence. However, it's still pretty easy to get this on and complete for relatively little money. So why pay for the reissue?

 

I would really like it e-hobby would release a G1 colored version. (Would also save me the work of painting one myself.)

It won't surprise me if the regular (non-ehobby) re-release is essentially G1-colored, like re-issue Galvatron (and to a lesser extent, Star Convoy).  After all, it's bound to sell waaayy better than a straight reissue.

Well some of you guys have been going back and forth on which you like better (G2 Optimus Prime or Black Convoy/Scourge).  I just wanted to add a sub-topic here to say that I took a junker G2 Prime cab and gave my RiD Scourge the electronics.  If you ever have an extra to do that with, I highly advise it.  If you didn't think Black Convoy/Scourge could get any cooler, just add the electronics.  Sword of Fury with lights > G2 Optimus Prime with lit sword.

 

On the reissue, I really like this toy, but I would imagine that there were a lot of other characters to reissue first (most people have been begging for the Dinobots for example). 

 

I wouldn't mind seeing a G1-eque G2 Megatron.  That would be neato!

I reckon there's a couple of reasons behind that. First, he's pretty darn expensive for a brick. Second, his release was limited to preorders. I don't think Takara was planning on selling many of that particular reissue.

 

Meanwhile, Battle Convoy is a cheap (in comparison) figure for the size, and I can only assume a normal reissue. I reckon chances are decent we'll see an e-hobby version.

Man, i guess it's just that time of morning for me.  I thought that was hilarious.

 

I'm hoping for a repaint as well.  What if we got a different decepticon out of it besides Scourge?  I seriously doubt it, but it seems like fun to me.  There are plenty of semis in TF.

 

A G1 paint scheme would be choice though.  I'd ahve to add him to the KO Prime of Justice, Scourge, and Laser Prime in their Kung Fu battle.

I have to admit that Laser Prime was a figure I *thought* I wanted a lot more than I *actually* wanted. It's a great mold but the colors really are meh (all of them). If they redid him, they'd need to use darker, metallic blue and red colors IMO. And actually use blue plastic on those light-pipe eyes this time.

 

Oh and friggin' paint the details next time.
