they've made the Devastator RiD Landfill repaint a Target Exclusive which means that the only people who can get it are people who have access to a Target. honestly, why can't Hasbro make store exclusives also available at online retailers so more people can buy them?

also, i think the real reason why Coby's Ramble is not getting a North American release is that Hasbro is just too stubborn and arrogant about their "TF's shall never pilots" policy.

Personally i love it when they make stupid decisions.......  :tfgrin

Stupid for collectors,i guess so. From Hasbros viewpoint, perhaps not so stupid:

They may be leaning torwards Target exclusive becasue they feel it reinforces the brand

with Target.  Given the choice, they probably prefer to have toys on shelves in a shop rather than a warehouse.

Especially after they had to pick up the slack with Astrotrain.

As for Cobys Ramble, who knows??  They're only offering it in one color in North America, whereas E.Battle Ravage and Doom(ed to the clearance bin) lock were offerred in two each.

They may have come to the conclussion that it's not worth offering drone characters in multiple colors......

What about Headmasters and Kicker piloting Highwire

Quitcher Starscreaming and politely ask someone with about 5 Targets within driving distance to pick one up for you. :wave

How is it a bad decision? It's bad that some collectors can't get it? That's not bad for Hasbro. Hasbro's not making a bad business decision for them. They aren't "deciding" to make it a Target exclusive, Target decided they wanted it as an exclusive. If Hasbro made it available through other sources then it wouldn't be a Target exclusive. Store exclusives aren't trying to achieve the goal of being available to everyone or really even making a big profit. They're to cultivate a good relationship with the retailers and to help promote the brand at the retailer.

...what in the hell are you freebasing? hasbro has no such policy. I mean, Powerglide, look at the headmasters, targetmaster and Powermasters.

the reason stores get exclusices is because A. hasbro wants to make sure the market stays not dominated by wal-mart and B. some stuff wouldn't sell well enoguh for a full release.

I still think a Target executive ran over his dog....

I feel and share your frustration, although not for this particular item. I'm just thinking back to RiD Scourge, Air Attack Optimus Primal & U Nemesis Prime. Three figures that I really wanted but because they were American store exclusive I had to pay ridiculous sums just to get them. I can understand that Hasbro won't sell them on-line to USA residents to not offend the store who sells the exclusive, but why can't they sell it to people in other countries?

Ah well...
