Will Armada get finished? DVD wise

Recommended Posts

Screw the dvd rules. Get a dvd player in your pc, and set it for the right region and your good to go. I have 3 players, one for each region. A decent video card helps too. My womans apple laptop plays them fine. I think this regional stuff blows. Its just another way to screw the general public and capitalize and Blot. My ass needs to go to taiwan and get everything. DVDs, software you name it. LOL

At any rate, someone needs to get off their ass and release this stuff. Why does the USA always gotta get stuff last. Japan and Europre get all the good stuff and we get stuck buying bootlegs and rip off imports on eBay. If I see another popeye box set i'm gonna puke!

The region coding is a pain.

Studios complain about people illegally copying movies but if a movie is not available somewhere what is one to do?

PAL is 25 fps and NTSC is 30 fps.  Movies are shot at 24 fps, so when movies are converted to NTSC they usually duplicate every sixth frame (which the eye can't detect), while on PAL they just speed it up slighty (making movies run 4% faster than they would in a theater, something which drives purist videophiles crazy).

There is also a difference in vertical resolution (PAL is 20% higher) and the way the colors are assigned (of which PAL used to be considered superior, leading to NTSC being nicknamed "Never The Same Color"; however, I think with DVD technology the color thing isn't as noticiable as it was with video tape).
