knock off's or not those figures are in some ways an actual improvement when compared to the transformer figures they were based on.

they are licensed cars with alt/energon style transformation. they shouldn't be considered ko's/bootlegs but their transformation scheme reselbles that of real tf's.

 

i want the evo VIII and IX. two nearly identical cars, two different transformation schemes... those are sweet

As one of the few people on these boards who owns a few of these, and has played with many of them, i don't consider them knockoffs. Even in cases where the transformation scheme is similar, the actual engineering tends to be quite different.

 

They can be a touch expensive, but they are very big and impressive looking. I posted a review of the best of the bunch, the EVO, a while back.

Would discussion of roadbots belong here? These things look sick, i want em all, and some of em are 1:12... 16" tall! Wow! Big problem is weather the Alts would allow them to reside on the same shelf?

At their height, the compete more with 20th Optimus and Primus more than the Alts

I'll admit save for the heads, some of them would make good Alts for larger figures. Like if they had a Hummer one, he'd make a great Trailbreaker using an enlarged version of Alt. Swindle's head and some other minor modifications.

Look at sig! I have the Hummer one! The plastic on this is not cheap and has good transformation. The interior just kicks ass! I will be putting a review by the end of the week.

I still can't get over how ginormous they are.
