I beleive the story was to start shortly after BM ends with everyone now TechnoOrganic.  Basicaly my understanding was it would try and go back to their roots (i.e Vehicle modes)  Primal would follow in his Ancestors foot steps, hence the Prime title.  Megs returns with new followers, and Transtech goes the way of G1 just with some animalistic alt modes thrown in.

ah man, now that is weak. the Primal vs. Beast Megs arch was closed and wrapped up rather nicely, with both of them becoming one with Cybertron's organic core. bringing them back yet again would have been foolish on Hasbro's part. plus, it would have completely rendered all of Cheetor's character development nul and void. in BM, Cheetor was being primed for leadership. if he wasn't leader of the maximals for TT then that would have been a huge waste.

I thought the Transtech Optimus was Optimus Prime?

I think at the end of BM Optimus made some sort of statement that he and Megatron were the original G1ers reborn so I would assume they would be reborn again. I would love to see transtech be revived. Beast Machines comes out on dvd next month so everyone buy em up to show Hasbro there is still interest in the Beast Wars/Machines characters. My one hope is to see what happens after BM. I would even give up the movie for that. And for all those who complained about BM when it was on: I hate you and hope you meet your end in a very painful death

I did compain publically(Wasn't on any forum) But I didn't like the toys too much. I liked the show but didn't like the Morphing, hardly and sentient enemies, absentee from battles Megs, and the Far from toy accurate G1 approach(even though this was good cause most of the toys looked like. :inhpoo ) Outside of the Show characters, I didn't bother buying any thing else, like I did with BW. This toy line marked the first time I refused to buy the Leaders. They are usually first on the list.

i can see Primal as a younger version of Optimus Prime but there's hardly anything in common, personality wise, between the two Megatrons. if anything, BM Beast Megs acts more like G1 Unicron.

Ya know, given the imminent re-release of the BW figs for the 10th anniversary and the impending release of BM on DVD, we the fans *do* have a pretty good shot at letting our dollars speak our voice for us to Hasbro in expressing interest in seeing this story arc revived.

 

I think there are 2 things making us clamor for more of this:

1.  BW/BM was a far better written series than anything before or since.  The characters had for more depth to them, and consequently, both series were more mature than what we generally expect from a TF show.  Esp. now that we've grown up, it's far closer to our tastes than the kids' show TFs have always intended to be.

2.  All the TF series since have been terrible by comparison.  I'm not referring to the toys, just the shows.  But speaking of the toys, those too have stayed much closer to the original concept than getting so risky like BM and what would've been TT tried to do.  Hopefully once the nostalgia boom dies down we'll see more of a market for new ideas in TFs.

and who else knew about this? am i the only one completely in the dark on this one? i had no idea there were plans to follow up on bm. let alone prototypes. if theres a proto on primal/prime i wanna see it. also and finished transformation of cheetor. but i will say that the starscream proto doesnt exactly ressemble him much. not like it matters however. its more than amazing. that and all the concept art seemed very evangelian'esq. and the thinner silverbolt with the sword was to die for.

It was known about but largely speculated, only the Starscream proto had been seen.  It will all be coming out soon ;)

whoops, you misunderstood my poorly defined words ;) I meant what was ready in the line will be popping up on Behindthetoys.com not actually being released ;)
