You can find it at amazon.com

the real return of optimus was an episode called dark awakening which was one of the best episodes ever imo.

this episode took place before the two part return of optimus and showed optimus damaged on a tf tomb

Yeah, but that was basically a Quintesson trick, and he was more-or-less a zombie until he forced control to sacrifice himself (again!)

Then came "The Return...", where we start with him sitting in mostly the same position we last saw him in (piloting the shuttle into a star), except his body has been miraculously restored to perfect repair. :tflaugh

Not that I noticed (or would've cared, if I had) at the time. I was just happy to have Prime back. :clap

So I saw some episode where a girl scientist brings him back. Which is that?

That's "The Return of Optimus Prime". The girl and her father(?) rescued Prime just before he went into the star and revived him on board their ship (I think they were studying the star or something), but I don't remember how.

The Return of Optimus Prime will be on the Season 3 Part 2 Box Set of the original Transformers cartoon.
