What does everyone think about the "newsprint" part actually called Master Collector?

I glance through it, then use it as packing matrial for trades :thumb

LOL

Yea I opted for the cheaper shipping so by the time I get mine the newsprint doesn't really offer much.  I guess it's cool to skim through.  Not much to do with it after that though.  I wonder if there is a way to opt out of that part.  I'm not trashing it as others may find it usefull but the paper used to make my copy can go to a better use.

I doubt you can opt out of it.  Part of your club fee goes towards a "free" ad in the master collector portion.  Enjoyed the comics/magzine portion so far.  Though it does need more content.  And I like my Skyfall figure.  I'm hoping that at least one of the figures in the Exclusive Gestalt is a remold and that they aren't all jsut Repaints, but either way its a decent little figure.  As long as they don't use Jetstorm as the center bot though.  He's far too droopy, the Barricade mold would be nice as a Bot though with a new head perhaps.

Actually, the remainin four figures are all supposed to have a retool.  It was just Skyfall that didn't get anything except a "colour change".  I remember hearing recently though that the entire gestault will be translucent just like Skyfall is.  Hopefully they'll a bit more brokenp colour scheme.  Skyfall is ok but I did a parts swap with him and an extra red limb, cain't think of the character name, to add another colour to Skyfall.  I have mixed feelings on my end result but I like it better than just beinf red and blue.  Prime has been the only one to ever pull off a red and blue paint scheme.  In fairness though, that's all subjective.

See I actually like Skyfall's color scheme.  Though I can see where people would like a little more.

Technically he's three colors though.  Blue and red main, black detailing.  You jsut can't see the black very well unless light is shining through him.

Over all I'm jsut a big fan of the mold in general.

they've been trying to put more in.  the print is getting smaller smaller every month...

Well the newsprint part wsn't very "full" this month.  Rather skimpy compared to the past ones.  I don't care, just pointing out what I noticed.  Maybe they have less advertisers towards the end of the year.

They did add in a page of fan art though and used fan art from LagunaL8 for the Vector Prime Bio page and art from King Starscream for the Ramjet bio page.  About the same overall as usual though.  10 pages of content with the HartmansG1 Premium packin article and pictures, a Palisades interview, an articl disscussing the differences of Cybertron Strascream to Galaxy Force Starscream, the Vector Prime bio page, the Ramjet bio page, and a review of Metrotitan.  Then of course the 6 pages of the comic.  Oh front page was savage's section and then a review on Cybertron Landmine.

This will sound harsh but as usual all I got out of it was the Hartman's article, the bio pages, and the comics.  There was however an added bonus this time as ther was fan art.  Everything else has been disscussed months ago or years ago.  Come on, Cybertron Landmine?  I'm sure the toy reviews and Palisades things are neat for those that don't know but considering it's a fanclub and a bulk of that membership is off the various boards chances are most of us have been there and done that.

And I'm definately not enthused about the next issue as it will have Botcon 2005 coverage in it.  There was coverage at the convention while it went on and there has been plenty of talk afterwards about it.  Not to mention this issue will come two months after the convention was had.  It could have benefits though.  There could be photos shown of what people weren't allowed to take photos of.  Assuming prototypes don't get leaked onto the net before that.

That's an excellent point.  It would be nice to get real news from the newletter, not just old news.
