Hasbro Cybertron Concept Drawings...

I kinda wish they didn't show us those photos. The Protoforms look so much better.

These are the same concept sheets that were shown at SDCC, by the way.

I'm still miffed that we didn't get that Leobreaker.  The one that transforms into an actual arm... they even got it to proto-stages, and everything.  Then they went and dumbed him down for whatever reason.

^i know i legerjack with a hand would of rocked oh well

gr8 concept art i agree with dirt boss also the f1 car style breakdown/autolander looked cool

I get the feelin they cheaped out on the 2 swords. Look on the other side of where you store Vector Prime's sword in vehicle mode. There's a matching piece of 'hilt' on the other side but no storage. :(

Dirt Boss was the shiznit!  Too bad they Fisher-Priced him out so bad.

i really don't understand why Hasbro does that. the concept drawings always have a more mature and realistic feel to them but when they make the actual toy, it's all cartoony and kiddified. do little boys really prefer tf's that are silly looking or is it an underestimation on Hasbro's part?

I think they split Megs concept into Crumplezone. I like Clocker's protoform but Have to admit I like his current more complex transformation scheme.

One surprising relevation from Hasbro at Botcon is that the main Transformers toyline is actually aimed at a younger age group than most of us imagined.

Notice the hoses that go from Leobreakers body to forearms in beast mode on the grey proto and the black and white line art drawing?

Those didn't make it to final production but kinda look cool.

but would it really hurt them to give the toys a more mature look?

I am confused - What age ARE they Aiming for???

i mean we all assume that its "7 year olds and up..." but what is younger than a 7yo?? i mean arent 5yo's still playing with "My first Gobot TF" or whatever (brillinat things i tell you)

i agree - it woulnt hurt to have the figs be a bit more mature after all they are more expensive and more complicated than the average Turtle Doll.... i hate to say it but i have always thought of Trans-Fans as slightly Elite...  Like the kids who still do Puzzles and such or READ vs. TV... there is simply just MORE there.

That being said -  I think That GoBots/Cybertron/Alt/Universe&Reissues (cause really these should have been all the same thing) hits a wide enough demographic to cover all the bases.
