That question was answered a few months back.  Basically they take the position that the publicity of their main line brings enough awareness to TFs in general.

Oh Poo! I'd kill to see a normal looking commercial where a guy gets pulled over by a police car and while he's looking mad and reaching for his info, a shadow covers the car. The guy turns around to see a giant robot telling him his tail light is broken. The guy immediately pulls off and then Prowl palms his face, transforms and goes after him.

Exactly.  The way Archer made it sound, it would seem they are trying to expand their distribution channels and LOC is an inexpensive way to introduce new avenues of distribution to fairly inexpensive product.  Kohl's was also mentioned.

Yes.  Everyday I have to stop at a CVS for a bus transfer after class and wait about 10-15 mins.  I can pick up some LOCs for myself to be in scale to my figs from giant planet w/ the exception of Optimus Prime since I'm getting him with my Megaro Convoy.

 

Now, when should we be expecting to see this development occur.

That'd be hilarious.  I can see one that would have worked for Smokescreen.  You see the Suburu WRC going around the track, and it goes into the pit.  It tfs and they start doing whatever they do to cars in the pit (don't follow racing except for the concept and a few things), and do it to Smokecreen.  He then transforms and wins the race.

Hasbro also anounced that they were going to reissue TM Rattrap.... do you thik that it will be slightly modified so that the rear leg's/wheel's of his beast mode will rotate to Rattraps shoulders?

I'm not going to comment on what I "think" because that has no bearing on what Hasbro will or will not do.  Sorry, but I don't want to contribute to any fan rumors out there.

Yes, they did say that.  However, we have yet to see the extent to which they will go.  Without a proto to look at or a direct question to Archer...everything is speculation at this point on Rattrap.  In fact, Archer even forgot the name of the third piece in that pack until someone yelled out Tarantulus in the audience and he confirmed "Yeah, that's it."

What I gathered from him, no.

The first six are 'show accurate' in better colors, but same molds.

 

Now, that could change (as hasbro can change anything), but as I said, from what all was said during sat and sunday, it was that they were 'redecos' not 'new tools'.

So was it ever addressed as to why the name Decepticharge was given? Is it because they could not use another name, possibly Drag Strip? Did Honda USA deny any other name?
