I ordered a fake black microman megatron off Ebay.

 

Customs (or the seller) tore up the insides of the box, threw away the bulletts, and it was in shambles upon arrivial. 

 

 

 

Here I thought you were talking about CUSTOM TF's, not international Customs..

the only time i was called on customs was when i imported from HLJ al the stuff i got from china via e-bay has been fine

marking it as 'gift' AND a max value of 30 dollars should do it, plus: never buy a lot from online stores, go via contacts or ebay, as stores are generally not allowed to 'cheat'

Thanks for the sympathy Shadow ES, I am going trough a rough few weeks. But I try to keep my spirts up. Not easy considering it is 86f/30c in here and I am sweating like a pig. Fortunately I sleep in a different room.  :tftongue

 

Still, it is a hassle to import everything but given the amount of stuff I received ok I have not paid that much import tax. Still it is hugely annoying but I love Transformers so much that I cannot give them up. However at times I wonder why do I bother.

 

To answer your question Satanstorm, the current Dutch government is hardly socialistic. People here are able to spend less and less because prices keep going up while the wages stay the same.

 

And if the covernment has a big cash bonus, they do not use it to help the people who need it but to pay off state debts. While it is completely normal for a country to have those and not a piority to pay those off.

 

Do not want to start a political argument but I just wanted to answer that question.

 

But the custom laws were made when a socialist government was in place so they are very protective indeed. Strange considering people only import stuff they cannot get here.

 

Europe is very protecive of their own trade up to the point where it becomes very unfair, especially to the poorer countries.

 

A real shame they store your bullets Backfire. I think that if I ordered a Megatron and it got intercepted, I would not get it at all. I would probably get a nice big fine for trying to get something that looked like a gun. Gun laws are here strict as well.

 

Understandible but I know I would be a huge fool if I were to wave Megatron in front of the police.  :tflaugh

 

Still, I too worry about the customs damaging my stuff. I mean they have it in a storehouse for weeks. Who knows what they are doing to it?

It's moronic to be charged import tax on an item that ins't available locally in the first place.

true, but how are customs supposed to know what is available and what not? if there has to be a completely up to date rulebook, then please go ahead and make one, but I dont know if you'll have enough time with the rest of your life

 

so the shop you recommended is a great idea, but sadly only for japanese items (so far, as there are rumors that they might import US exclusive TFs somday)

customs suck especially when you already pay a bomb on a item and they make you pay tax on something that they do not make or have in the country, thats why i want to go on holiday to the usa and get some alts

I managed to buy Robot Masters Convoy (the one with DVD  :clap), RM Starscream, a Sixwing set (2 figures), Autolander and Dinoshout. All for decent prices too.  :clap Convoy was the most expensive one at 24 Euro.

 

But seeing how I loved the 3nd DVD that came with Lio Convoy (the first RM toy I bought) I wanted this one and a smaller Optimus Prime sounds really cool. Same goes for Starscream. Love that guy.

 

The store made a mistake though with the other 2 seekses whom they named Skyweb & Soundcracker.  :tflaugh

 

Anyways, this made my mood a bit better. I just transferred funds to pay the bill (hope that went allright) and hopefully I will get my stuff fast.

 

Right now I am feeling a lot better. I am an optimist at heart though at times it is not easy.

 

But make no mistakes I am an optimist because I am lazy. Afterall it takes 60 mucles in your face to look sad but only 20 to smile.  :tflaugh

[off topic]Dude, buy a desk fan, seriously.  I'm down in Las Vegas (Nevada, USA) and around here in summer, 100f is a good day.  I have a small army of desk fans that I keep pointed at my head at all times.  Works like a charm.  Lean back in chair, adjust fan back.  Lean forward in chair, adjust fan forward.  :P [/off topic]
