Beast Machines on DVD?

Recommended Posts

Sounds good. :clap YTV just finished running Beastwars through once.  I was really hoping for Beast Machines to follow but they just reaired Beast Warts again from the first ep. Kind of disapointing but now I can see all the eps I missed the first time around and tap em in sequence. :thumb

Reguarding Beast Machines I did find the first first dvd release and it has 5 eps not 4

1. The Reformatting

2. Master of the House

3. Fires of the Past

4. Mercenary Pursuits

5. Forbdden Fruit. (which I didn't really think was as bad as everyone made it out to be.)

On a secondary note, does anybody have an idea when the second half of Armada is being released? :tfhuh

Probably never. >.> at least not from Rhino. i believe they lost the licence.

Which would explain why WB is supposedly releasing BM instead. Fine by me -- those Rhino people sure know how to make an annoying-as-hell DVD intro.

P.S. Kary, the answers are there... they're just not laid out as obviously as they would normally be in a kids' show.

Rhino is a subsidiary of AOL/TimeWarner.

And to Quote LMH - There you have the intrinsic Flaw with BM!

first and foremost we have to remember that this IS a kids show designed to sell TOYS to KIDS...

so for all Madhammer's defense of the series - he is missing the point of why the majority of the fandom has cause to hate it.

That and the whole flowers thing....

For my part - i bought some BM-VCDs off some seedy guy on the INTERNET and i am enjoying the series emmensely.  However unless the $50 set comes with some Awsome extras (like those Keeping it WIEEEEEERRRRRRD Comercial breaks) - i will prolly have to pass.

And for the record - i enjoy BW better.... But for those who have not seen it - if you can accept BW as a premise - and you are willing to accept somnething NEW from the TF franchise - then BM is very very rewarding.

By the way - semi off topic: I absolutely LOVE Jetstorm in that series!  Who is his Voice Actor and Why isnt he in the newer series?!?!

Although I will say that Beast Machines was probably too deep for its target demographic, which is one reason it ultimately didn't succeed IMO. My son loves watching it b/c of the action, but he's not really old enough to appreciate the spiritual / philosophical issues raised in the series.

*lovers to Hutner*

P.S. flowers are awsum

Beast Machines is to Beast Wars as Season 3 is to G1.  It's by no means up to par with what came before it, but it's still a necessary part of any collection.  Besides, I'll take Beast Machines over any dubbed series since.

Uhm...Beast Machines.

Yay. Rah. Wah-hoo. Erm..go team?

Sorry, hard to get excited about a series that totally sucked the joy out of Transformers for me. Beast Wars (esp second season) was better scripted and had better characterization than anything Beast Machines did. In fact, BM pretty much flew in the face of most all that had been established in BW.

Not saying BW was perfect, but it was damm near close when compared to the gaping loopholes in BM you could fly Sky Lynx through.

:pfx

there are only loopholes in BM if you don't pay attention

that is all

True, I didn't find any loopholes or plotholes when I watched the entire series recently.

Okay then explain the whole Megatron hating organics thing. We can assume many things that he landed on Cybertron like about 2 years earlier then when the Maximals return and sometime inbetween that point and when they land he learns to hate his Beast Mode for whatever reason which still doesn't make sense.

Or you can assume that the Maximals went to an alternate reality where there was a BW Megs who actually hated the idea of having an organic body.

You don't need to explain everything in the show as to why certain characters changed... but there are important points for key characters that we've grown to love. I could accept the whole Rhinox/Tankor personality change because they explained it to some degree. Same with Silverbolt. But Megatron was never explained at all. Maybe we need to get Bob Skir to write a little background story on Megs.
