I'm new to the G1 cartoon

Recommended Posts

Turtles has those DVD box sets. I just bought season one and season2 part 2. But dont get the individual volumes, theyre a rip off at $15.99-19.99 each. Go for broke and buy the 4-disc sets for $34.99-$49.99. MUCH better buy and a lot less confusing than trying to piece them together.

Glad to hear that you're getting on the Transformers bandwagon, swdarin. :clap :thumb And don't let the fact that you were born in 1987 bug you; there's no right or wrong age to get into Transformers. Just look at Star Trek, for example. It had been on the air in rereuns for about ten years when I was born, yet I became a big fan of it later on, during the movie era. On that note, I'm willing to bet that if they do a good job with the upcoming live-action Transformers movie (slated to come out in late '06), a whole new generation of Transformers fans will arise. So on the behalf of all of us, welcome to a world transformed, where thing are not what they seem; the world of the Transformers!

I never heard of G2 or watched G1 in this kind of form. To be honest, I was born in 1987. And if G2 aired in 1992, I could have been a TF fan already back then. I could have been a fan like about way before BW, RID, or Armada.

G1 and G2, when they were aired on TV, what network were they on?

I Recall it being on Fox, or back then WUTV-Buffalo. I think G1 was saturday mornings like most shows, and G2 was on weekdays right before Conan the Adventurer

G2 was a big let down. Before it aired, all they showed in previews was this small amount of a CG Optimus fighting Skywarp, so I was expecting a totally CG show. Instead, it was an illusion of watching the old G1 episodes in some kind of TV-cube, that kept rotating sides. Instead of doing the classic logo in, logo out transitions, they did these really complicated ones where the cube would open up and stuff. It really wasnt an improvement at all.

And as for being born in 1987, dont worry. I was born in '86! It's really easy to get caught up if you wanna

I never even knew they made a G2 cartoon, I just thought the made toys and left it at that. But if they are the G1 with crappy CGI then its better that I missed them. But that was also during my period where I was not a transfan, so that might be why i never saw them.

Anyone got screen caps of some of that craptastic animation from G2?
