This is Fox news. There's more bias and opinion before the facts anyway.

:pfx

in fact, there was a recent incident where Fox News had a guest that made a false accusation about an american citizen being a terrorist and then he gave out the citizens' address.

linkage

And they fail to mention that Transformers was made in a american animated style before the recent series. Nor do they mention the original Ghost in the Shell movie, which made help make anime and manga in the US today or other anime series that have been here for years such as robotech

:pfx for some reason i've never liked fox news, lol.

But dude, it's Fox News.  "We report, YOU decide!"  :tftongue

Yeah, what a joke.  While there is a huge manga/anime import movement going on right now, TFs aren't involved in it in any way.  Like it's been stated already, there's been a flow back and forth through Hasbro and Takara's partnership for 2 decades now.  I'd hardly call that following a trend.

Besides - if they want to write an interesting article about cartoons and comics being shipped overseas, how about a piece about why we clamor to get all of Japan's stuff and they don't give a Rattrap's @$$ about our stuff??

I assume the reason why they did not mention TF the Movie is the same reason that they did not mention GI Joe the Movie.

Like L.M. said

The article was about manga coming to the big screen; it wasn't a Transformers press release.

I just put an article that had TF's in it.

As for Foxnews being bias, thats your opinion and I'm sure the news shows you watch or read are biased to what you believe.  I happen to rely on Foxnews for a more accurate report, especially living in way too liberal Washington State.

The article sucks.

There already has been a pretty big live-action, anime-style movie made that was very successful, it was called "The Matrix."

You mean you like FoxNews because it spins the news the way you like it.

PS:  Just pulling your chain man - I find FN reports some news (usually that involving defense, etc.) better than CNN and vice versa.

Thats kinda unfair. Transformers (as a series) was created in the United States, regardless of it being more popular (overall) in Japan.

And when they do release anime movies, they don't put the commercials on the top 4 networks, and they don't put these movies in the big theaters!

Spirited Away was only shown at a discount theater in my area for 2 weeks!

Cowboy Bebop was shown at 1 AMC theater in my area for less than 1 week!

They don't put these movies in the Regal theater, They don't put the commercials on ABC, NBC or CBS.

And they wonder why these movies don't do well in the theater.

"Manga rhymes with banga" :lol

I don't consider transformers being manga.

Many you guys are easily riled up.  I don't see anything inaccurate in the article.  I guess you could argue that TFs have nothing to do with manga/anime, but that seems silly given the Cybertron show and some of the comics.

I actually liked the article.

I think Akira live action will be very sucessful as long as production values are high.  Americans are culturally predisposed not to like serious cartoons for adults.  It seems unlikely to change, since, with modern CGI, there isn't really much that can't be live action anyway (including dishsaucer eyes and short miniskirts).  Sin City is one example.

How do you pronounce "bang-a"?
