That would have been cool. Rodimus in the show was never decisive enough. A leader should be rock hard.  :tflaugh

Of course Optimus was not always that either.

I just remembered the last issue of the first DW G1 series. Superion flew off to stop the nuke which would have blown up an entire city.

Of course what he did was the right decision looking from a humanitarian viewpoint. It was also the only choice an Autobot could have made.

But it was also a stupid one as it cost the Autobots 5 soldiers. And not just any soldiers but 5 flyers. And for the Autobots who are always short on flyers this could have cost them the entire war.

So in retrospect it was a rather foolish decision. Ok, a lot of humans would have died but if the Decepticons would win the war then this whole planet is done for.

Tough choice. No wonder Ultra Magnus does not want to be a leader.  :tflaugh  And being a bad guy is just so much easier.  :tfevil

Plus they were being rebuilt along with the Constructicons by the humans, we never got to see where that story arc was going to develop though since DW went to hell....

Yeah, that is a real shame indeed.  :tfsad

And the G2 body count was immensely high. I am still having nightmares.  :tftongue

If Season 3 had worked out, there would never have been a "Return of Optimus Prime."

And that’s how it should have stayed. As I stated before, Prime was the perfect leader for the Autobots and my first choice as their captain. But his death also had a way of making him a legend, especially how he died. I think they never should have brought him back. It “cheapened it in a way.

why no one choose fort max? i think he is a good leader

Death to all AUTOBOTS! ok ok, i voted for the bad guys, but Prime was a heck of a leader, no doubts about it, but Rodimus Prime was a fave of mine from the movie. Ultra Magnus had his chance....he sucked, stay a sub comander!

that's exacty what I thought :redface

Primal. :monkey fo life!

i go with hot rod, who became rodimus prime, he had everything needed to be a leader people just hated on him for killing prime but i'd a done it, over and over again, if they'd spent more time developing his character i think he'd have been better than prime, that's right i said it B-E-T-T-E-R than op  :clap

Hi 5!! I loved Roddy.  Sure, he gets this bad rap for being whiny, and unsure of himself but he was leader for what, 5 minutes?  He was pretty much the equivalent of an 18 or 19 year old being stuck with all this responsibility when he just wanted to be a kid having fun (when he could) while having to fight a war.  And besides, even Kup said in one S3 ep that OP was the same way when he first got the Matrix.

Madhammer hit it on the nose.  Prime was set up to be this perfect, paragon of leadership qualities.  He could do no wrong, was always Mr Perfect Leader which, IMHO is boring.  Roddy was an intriguing character because you saw him start out as a "turbo revving young punk" and then begin to evolve into a good leader by the end of S3.  He never had a chance, since all the whiny fanboys had to have OP back.  They should have kept OP in the show, but inside the matrix. Kind of like how Luke Skywalker can still talk with Obi-Wan thru the Force.
