As long as there's no "Optimus Prime! Transform!"  I'll be happy.

*Quivers* I thought Yelling "Beast Mode!" or saying "Maximals Maximize!" was cool as a battle cry to replace "AUTOBOTS! ROLL OUT!" But all the bots yelling "Beast Mode or Terrorize!" like it was mandatory was silly. Watching Megatron Cybertron bio clip on Transformers.com is silly too. It's all, why is Megatron telling himself to transform? I'm used to him telling others to transform.

They could use the transforming sound from BW.  Each character had a different sound I believe, plus it seemed 'real' (atleast for them).  Of course the G1 sound has it's place in the history of Transformers, something new that perhaps is similar to the G1 sound would work.

Keep in mind that Hasbro HAS put the G1 sound into toys lately, so using the G1 sound wouldn't be out of the question.  But in this case, I would say something new that 'makes sense' should be used.

That's exactly why it *is* out of the question IMO. This isn't going to be a toy tie-in like TF:TM was.

I don't quite get what you're saying, MH. sorry for my slow-wittedness. are you sayign that there aren't goign to be any toys for the movie?

Where was it said this movie wouldn't have toys?  Because I find it VERY unlikely that Hasbro wouldn't have a toyline to go with the movie.

Let me rephrase:

TF:TM was produced as a way to market the new TF toy line.

This movie will not be that.

Of course there will be toy tie-ins but the toys aren't driving the production.

I get it now....

something I forgot to say when I posted my nostalga reason. everytime I see people mention transformers, guess what they think of? the origignal cartoon. they think of the classic optimus and megatron. they talk abotu the old transformation sound, etc. this is from non-transfans. i really think there's enough of 'em for a small thing like the classic sound to work.

either that, or shadow ES' idea. his idea PWNZ.

I think they should probably go with something *reminiscent* of the G1 sound, but definately make it sound more lifelike. You know, like actual parts sliding in and out. The G1 sound was for a cartoon, this isn't a cartoon and they shouldn't cheapen it by trying to appeal to the G1 fan base.

And absolutely no 3rd person speak transfomr sequence, it's beyond stiupid.

Can you imagine if people actually did that all the time....
