Hasbro Improvements

Recommended Posts

Too many topics are Takara lovefests, so I think it's high time we had a topic dedicated to all the things Hasbro did better than Takara.  Paintjobs, figures, that kind of thing.

This is a topic for the cool figures they make, like E-Sharkticon and C-Armorhide.  For the superior paintjobs they give to figures, like C-Megatron, Clocker, and Energon Galvatron.

On that note, I love the improvements on Clocker(GF Skids).  His blue and yellow is darker in real life than photos show(his yellow is actually more like Sharkticon's orange...which in turn is a match for Cruellock's energon colors), and Hasbro using silver paint on the exhausts in place of takara's white is a splendid thing.  Finally, the tiny Autobot faction symbol on the hood is a lovely compliment to the figure's paint job.  Not obtrusive in the slightest.

Thank you.

Yes, I like E-Towline, E-Dinobots, E-Sharkicon and E-Slugslinger. It's kinda like a con exclusive just for living in one area.

The only improvements I can think of is that Hasbro's stuff is more easily accessible then Takaras, where you can go into a store and find it.

Also the battledamage paint job on 20th Prime was different if you can call that an improvement over masterpiece Prime.

Oh yeah, and some Hasbro exclusive figures like RID Air attack prime ape thing and exclusive repaints like RID Jetstorm.

Come to think of it, I saw all these guys in Japan.  Why doesn't Hasbro import Takara stuff?

because it would then cost about 1/3 more than it does already

Thats irrelevent for me at least.  I'd buy it.  Are american collectors that price consious?  I mean they have masterpiece Magnus in Australia...

*sigh*

If you're a diehard, take-no-prisoners collector, then yeah it's irrelevant. If you collect on a budget or the mold/colors don't strike your fancy, then it's not as irrelevant. Some of us are that price conscious--I can't see laying down more than $65 for one toy, much less $500 for a reissued Japan-only recolor of a G1 brick (luvers to G1 and bricks) that I didn't buy the first time around.

But if you've gotta catch 'em all, more power to you. :thumb Just be sure to tell us how it is since we'll be missing out (not sarcasm).
