wow i have found the bad side of being a fan boy

Recommended Posts

Fanaticism is just all around bad.

I got stuck in a close to 100 minute chat with a WM employee who collects, and well..long story short:

He starts telling me about his favorite fanfics...VERBATIM, and with VOICES.

He tells me all about the Dreamwave comics in and out, beginning to end.

He tells me we're not getting Galaxy Force over here (I corrected him, and he finally figured out what I meant).

He didn't know there was a movie planned, didn't know there were any shows on right now.

Didn't know that there were new Alternators.

To top it off?

He was a G1 purist and I heard about that. On. And. On.

Fortunately my girlfriend said "Hey, we gotta go. Take care." (God smiled on me) and we walked away.

Now let me be fair and honest:

1.) REEALLY nice guy.

2.) That's the risk involved with a town brimming with collectors of all types.

The other downsides to all of this?

1.) I hadn't slept in almost 36 hours by this point, ready to collapse. (what's another 2 hours eh?)

2.) I have to duck and run everytime I have the potential to run into him.

So yeah, fanaticism is a danger, and a nuisance.

I can relate to that.. but not in a transfomer sitation.. I happened to know this guy, lack of a better term, geek, who was totally obessed with anime and video games.. you could not get that bastard to shut up and go away for a minute.  I mean literally.. he'd follow you home if he had nothing else to do.. :tfmad he was a little too much to handle..

On the whole, things in TFans doesn't seem to bad.. if you read some of the comments on TFormers people make, thats about as worse as I've heard. Seriously guys, you take this Blot way to seriously.. :redface

My major concern about the movie is the concerning lack of young men in construction helmets :tflaugh

Along with Police officers, Bikers in Leather, and Indian Chiefs...they supposedly only come in sets of 4....and are sold in the village...by people

do people really have that little to do other then collect things

i mean ok iv got nearly every alt and bt out and every cover varient of the entire DW line and a tf calander(x-mas present my girlfriends mum) iv watched every single tf episode from g1 to energon with everything in between and some g1 toys but god thats my limit lol jesus i am a big nerd. but cool nerd hence the girlfriend thank you nicholas cage for showing geeks can be bad ass!

but good god do these people make love to there transformers or what damn

:wtf

you've seen every epidsode of every series, own every DW comic and cover varient, and you ask if other people "have that little to do?"

Granted, you may be cool, but everyone on this forum is a geeky collector.

:pfx, we all are geeky collectors, the sooner people accept that the better, but going on and on about it is wrong, unless people ask you for specific details

I love g1, but i realy don't care what happens with the movie. As long as it's good.

There are a few fanatics gere in South Dakota but maybe less than 20? Either way, right now I'm the only one i know of that's into as hard core as i am, and i make misstakes and admit them, there are a few here who insist that they know more about this and that, and sometimes they do, no biggie. I think the thing is, that sometimes we as fans devote our selves to this single thing (hopefully more than just tf's but whatever). Then, we meet someone who does what we do, and it's on. For some reason fans always seem to have to prove themselves the better like 75% of the time or more, a psychologist would have a good time researching this. I like to call it "Star Trek: 52 or 53 episode complex". (i think those are the right numbers, LOL) :tflaugh

i may have collected and watched it all but really i dont spend that much time on transformers any more iv watched every episode over numorous years, and been able to collect the comics cause me had....HAD :'( disposable income. i go online when i have nothing really better to do, at the moment its a choice between posting here or doing the washing up  :tflaugh i mean have that little to do as in these people revolve there lives around toys its cool if its your job as well but i have a life to lead, transformers is a hobby nothing more its something to talk to my friends and gf about (who actually shows vague intrest) i just find it weird when people cling to toys and tv shows just because without them there lives would be empty. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm washing up here i come NOT MOVIE MARATHON TIME

*where are my legs i seem to have misplaced them, if anyone finds my legs in dallas post them back*
