NO, rubbing alcohol is NOT your friend.  Try it and you're liable to end up with some transparent/black side panels.  Whoever told me to take rubbing alcohol to my Sideswipe's autobot sigil needs to be shot.

I am informed the production item doesnt have the flames upon it, at least not pre-applied ;) I knew previously but wanted to read the comments :mwahaha

I like it

but I have to do it.

:tflaugh

once again, read my new origin (self shamelss plug)

Did this up quick. I see cartoon Skids.

I don't know why anyone hasn't pointed out the obvious about binalternater skids: he has ironhide's head. Why? Obviously this mold was originally intended for ironhide and was changed to the character skids. Why didn't they (hasbro/takara) provide the orignal head for skids based on the original toy like the other autobot alts? This annoys me because they did the same screw-up for deadend/sunstreaker, and swindle/trailbreaker. I don't get the logic here folks!!!!

look closer. It's not Ironhide's head; it's Skids'.

BTW GZ I don't know why you think Skids is the one turning Alts all GeeToo style -- what about flippin' Decepticharge?

Decepticharge doesn't feel as "GeeToo" if you think of him as Dragstrip, at least IMO.  Besides, I was just being a smarta$$ anyway... :P

It looks like another one of those blah paint apps Hasbro puts on the prototypes. Like when they had that dirt (albeit cool looking) paint app on Decepticharge.

The "dirt" effect was merely misted black spraypaint... I know, I have a test shot myself.  I seriously doubt they'd go to all the trouble of designing and applying a flame deco simply to deter test shot theft.  No, this is just an example of the Scion customizing trend.  Must be as "blinged out" as possible... actually, I'm shocked there's not gaudy Japanese writing all over the car, in huge print at odd angles.  And some neon orange ground effects and side view mirrors. :roll

For those who hate the flames:  rubbing alcohol is your friend.

Rubbing alcohol and/or enamel thinner (which should work much better, BTW) will only solve this problem if the panels are molded in blue plastic and NOT painted blue... if it's a paintjob like on Silverstreak, you can forget taking the flames off without removing the body color underneath them as well.  On a side note, any clear parts from the original proto will be painted to match the blue plastic, if the whole truck isn't painted anyway.  I highly doubt that you will be able to easily remove these flames without repainting the whole vehicle.

And this head is no more Ironhide than any other head in the Alt. line, and a repaint will be getting a new head sculpt anyway, so it's a moot point.  Get over it, please.  :thumb

I still don't like it.

If the production model doesn't come flamed then how did they get on there?  They look to be paint apps, not stickers.
