movie CONCEPT sketches

Recommended Posts

Those are Concept sketches for crying out load. The movie doesn't even have a full script. Lots of things change. Check out the special features on Spider-Man 2 DVD.

i wuz only speculatin!

plus they are only rough sketches, it would be wrong for hasbro to change OP's look in robot mode from g1 however as that is what people recognise him most as,

It's concept work, people. Testing out what could be ... what could not be ... what works and what doesn't.

Damning a movie 2 years before it even exists is beyond short sighted. Give it a rest.

That being said, the team behind this product knows what they are doing. Especially in terms of marketing. Will it be definitive g1 1984 all over again? No, but it's not meant to be. It's meant to take the brand as a whole to the masses, which means only good things for "fans" in the end.

Look at how much SW fans "get" from Hasbro, in terms of figures and such they desire. Now imagine if TF's had that kind of market pull. Exactly.

You have to remove yourself from 1984 and look at the big picture.

Great, more non-news about the TF movie.

I call BS on this, those aren't concept sketches so much as examples of other robots that have been done on video.

The 747 hovering out over the oil rig is a scene from "The Returner."

The NIKE big-shoe-the-changes-into-Marshall-Faulk is another one, I have the commercial saved on my drive.

Don't know where the Optimus Prime is from, but I'm taking that with a grain of salt too, given the other ones.  The only photo that looked like a concept sketch was the large one with the thing on its shoulder.

Uhh, you do realize that there isn't a script.....right?  :wtf

Concept sketch, in this instance, means that they're trying to give the audience of that panel an idea of what to expect from their project. That includes using pictures from other sources to outline their plan.

Wow you people see a few screenshots and this is going to be a bad movie?

You people need help.

Dude, you're not a *real* fan until you damn everything you see from its very inception.

The jet from "The Returner" and the Nike shoe are just examples of transforming things in "real life' animation. Wouldn't suprise me if they showed that Citroen commercial either.

The prime sketch is for real. The news that Soundwave will be a helicopter is for real. As real as "concept sketching and ideas" goes. But atleast these are concepts and sketches directly from the people who are creating this movie, and not some second hand my momma works at Dreamworks kinda deal.
