Megatron Reissue

I still believe this "drop test" is about as realistic as a leprechaun or a unicorn. I highly doubt Brave Max was even considered for production but they wanted to quell online rumors.

The drop test itself is very real. Many toys do fail it. BM supposedly had pieces small enough to choke a child break off when dropped (one of the points of failure, another is spintering into pieces capable of cutting). However, honestly I don't see how anything short of lobbing a grenade as Max could do that. I've heard stories about how friggin well built he is. The only thing I can think of is the RiD release was made of a more fragile plastic.

I too find the entire drop test to be a crock in its reliablity! Come on Hasbro, almost all TF are small enough or include parts that would be choked on, and/or have splintered parts if dropped. Sheesh. Ultimately parents need to watch their children, b/c no matter how "safe" companies supposedly claim they make their toys, kids will manhandle them. I know I use to actually try to break mine when I had them fighting, most of the time I wasn't successful, but it wasn't due to a lack of trying.

Ok if it it is the drop test, how in God's name did G1 Ultra Magnus pass it. He flies into peices and breaks so easily. Especially where the cab mounts to the trailer in bot mode.

It's pieces of choking size, not breaking. There's actually a tube they use. Anything larger than the tube won't FIT into a child's windpipe, and thus, isn't a choking hazzard. Anything smaller, and it simply gets swallowed. It's what gets *stuck* in the pipe that's the problem.

Megatron looks cool as a transformed walter PKK with that silver finish...

However, the trade off is thast when he's transformed into stand mode (or whatever you call it :P ) he has the protruding crotch area, which to me look ridiculous. Couldn't Hasbro swerve the legs so that the part in question sticks out of his bum, but the legs of course point the right way?

I'm not a fan of the stand-pose Megatron, as it looks nothing like the G1 Megatron of the Tv series.
