hey lobo, I found an Alt Inferno for sale on ebay.  Looks similiar to yours, the head looks almost identical to yours.  You didn't make this one too did you?  I like your's better if you didn't also make this one but this one is pretty darn good too.

Not mine.  But strikingly similar.  He even copied the way the seats folds up in bot mode.  The head looks like it's straight off of G1 Inferno.  I redid Swindles head.  I know Bodycount mentioned using G1's head and it looks very, very well done.  I bet it's him.

Oh ok, thanks.  I didn't think G1 Inferno's head was big enough for an Alt.  I do have G1 inferno but never bothered to look. 

Funny thing is BC ia banned at every board i've been to, even allspark, and some unknown poster is pimping his auction. (Can we say Alt ID kids?)

 

First, credit or not, this guy shouldn't be profiting off your idea but then that's your call anyway...

 

..second, I like yours a HELL of aLOT better then BC's knockoff.

 

It just has that personal details you can replace cheeply like the siren lights. (His has RID Prowl's...sucks...)

It's got a lot of similarities, but I'd say it's different enough in the details to just be an 'Inferno as Swindle'.  Lobo's is still better, though.

We stopped talking because I was sick of him putting down what I like, wich is G1.

 

I mean, he didn't have to agree with me but everytime I turnned around he'd Starscream about it and last I heard made fun of the fact that some of my Customs were G1 based.

 

He's so full of Blot and himself it's not funny.

 

He does great work and has tallent but I still like Lobo's better....His details weren't cheeply thought of...

Second, technically NO ONE should be profiting off customs....let alone claiming ideas for their own.  I'm not saying his or Lobo's is better than the other, but both have their own methods on doing everything - YOU, TFMaster should know this better than anyone.  Each person has their own style, and the sweat and blood, let alone close attention to detail that go into BC's kitbashes is enough to warrant me liking them.

 

He's not selling the idea - he's selling the work done to a figure that maybe a select few can even compete with him in the same class.  Geeze.

 

TFMaster - I've seen your kitbashes and while some are wonderful and great, some are downright atrocious and I wish I didn't care about what happened to a good toy, but do I ever feel compelled enough to come and Starscream about it on a forum?  No, I don't.  Everyone has their own ideas on what a figure or custom should look like.

 

My suggestion is that you take your egotistical megalomania for ruling the world of kitbashing with an iron fist, and for lack of a better phrase, shove it.

 

We collect and modify because it's fun, and yes, some of us offer up our skills to others who haven't had the time or luxury to develop them as subtly as we have.  I've got my share of kitbashes at home by others, BC included.  I've also got my own endeavors which I'm very proud of, whether they are my own personal ideas or 'copies' of something someone else already did.

 

Hell, some of us, including yours truly, even write guides to help people do what we've done in the past.  Would I dye a megatron sword for a quick buck?  Probably...and I'd be happy to help someone, even tho it's not officially MY idea.  Would I have to document who I figured that out from - um, no....not really at all.  It's nice enough that the person credited Lobo on the idea, even though he didn't have to at all in the first place.

Lobo: Good work on your alt. It looks like the stripes are a bit faded, is there a way to make them more solid? or is this just an effect of the camera?

 

Additionally, could you paint the side mirrors silver? It would be a simple way to add to the homage as it would look like his original "wings".

 

EDIT: D'oh missed your comment about the stripes in the first post.

what I don't understand, is if Lobo doesn't have a problem with this person who copied his work, (with or without permission) and is now selling it on Ebay,(with or without permission or acknowledging Lobo's was the first) why should anyone else care. I would be FLATTERED if someone wanted to or did COPY MY WORK. Hell, when people here asked how I did the door mod on my Vixen (sideswipe bash) it brought the biggest smile to my face. I thought "wow, somebody actually wants to copy MY work"

 

So I guess the question is:

Lobo, are you offended by BC's actions?

 

If the answer is no, then chill out everyone
