A while ago I was putting my Primes together... And then I came across a problem; I've got some Convoys and some Primes... But when does a toy become a Prime?

 

You could call a toy with the addition of the word 'Prime'a prime, but where does Vector Prime fit? Does he fit in with the rest? No? Well, does it help when you last name is Convoy, like Fire Convoy or Battle Convoy? But is Flame Convoy a 'Prime' then? Or Live Convoy for that matter? So... Then it must be in the 'Optimus', then Optimus Minor must be in that display! Or... Is it the (suggested) mouthplate or face features? Nope. Hot Spot, Snaptrap and Sixshot are Primes then... But nope, they aren't considered Primes.

 

What's your take on this, where do you draw the line?

Nitro, Live, and Flame have convoyish heasculps, all have a senter crest, and antenai.

Convoy is the same as Prime.  Different counties interrupt Prime as Convoy.

i never understood why all those toys had the name "convoy" when they clearly are not Convoys at all. of course, i hate the name Convoy. so i don't understand why the diaclone truck ever received that name. as for the name Prime, i think it signifies leadership of some sort. i recall reading that Vector Prime was some sort of leader.

i don't display rodimus prime with my primes.. to me, "prime" is a form of optimus' character is whatever show or repaint or whatever.... except all those black convoys/scourges... i hate that crap

So if you you'd buy a God Ginrai, you'd leave it out?

If you put Ginrai on the shelf you need to put Starsaber, and Gard City on the shelf too.

well if it has the name convoy and its called prime in the west it goes on my shelf.

 

i mix in the black primes since i collect molds of primes rather then optimus primes as such

 

as for god ginria well hes power master optimus prime in the west so hes on the shelf

When I display my primes, I put out everyone with Prime or Primal in their name, and the black repaints if I feel like it.

 

FWIW, I have no Convoys or GF yet.
