:tdown I'm not impressed.  I don't mind the Scion, and I've considered buying one if my plan to grab a Mustang GT falls through.  But it just ain't ironhide.  i think the G1 van didn't really suit Ironhide's personality either.  I think it's the best we can expect though.  I still see lots of Alts warming shelves here in north central IL, I counted four Streaks at the Morris Walmart alone.  They just aren't selling well at the $20 price point, so I doubt we'll see HasTak taking the risk of tooling up to produce $30+ Alts no matter what the vehicle type--unless of course the carmaker offers a big chunk of money to push the project forward.  Not likely to happen with GM; they're offering their employee discount to all customers in a desperate effort to drum up sales, plus they're getting ready to dump 25,000 jobs.  With all that I have little faith they're willing to dump a bunch of money on a toy company.  Ford?  Still unlikely, seeing as the Mustang and the F-150 are the only things keeping them afloat right now.  Dodge maybe, but I'm not holding my breath.  I don't think we're ever  going to see these mythical $30 Alt trucks or SUVs.  I'd love to see Ironhide as a Dodge Ram or a GMC Canyon but it just ain't so....        :tfsad

I think that Scion owners are the type of people who would buy a TF Alternator of their vehicle without knowing anything about Transformers.

 

It's a fanatic group of people (I know, I'm an xA owner - which would make a great minibot :D )  Last month they had a Scion expo thingy where Houston Scion owners showed off their cars and they had hundreds of people show up and drive down the highway together when it was over.

 

Besides, you all know that during the dry spell you'll pick it up just for the new mold.

I agree that either of the other two Scions would make fine Alternators, but the xB is just so very wrong for Ironhide.  I guess I would accept it as Skids, but hardly anything else.

I can agree about the choice of character, but I'm still digging the mold (and holding out for an eventual xA if this goes over well :D )

That thing is a funny looking vehicle in person but I agree that it's a good move by Hastak. A lot of non fans love those things. I admit, the unfinished toy looks nowhere near as bad as the real car in person.

I've never been too big on the Scion, but I like this, mainly for the Ironhide-y goodness of its bot mode.

GOD! I hope this really turns out to be Ironhide and not some random mini-bot. I dont even want it to be Skids. Skids was in like 2 episodes and got totally trashed before he even appeared in bot mode.

Well, the head does look like Ironhide's. I guess there's only one thing left to worry about, the color.  I have yet to see a red Scion or any kind, but judging from Hasbro's past defiance to auto company's wishes, I think he will be red.
