I think he meant in the cartoon.

Originally, Metroplex was supposed to be Autobot City, while Fortress Maximus, depending on how you see it, had these origins:

1. U.S continuity - a weapon created by Spike to fight the Decepticons; it was not meant, at least explicitly, to be a city.

2. Japanese continuity - Fortress Maximus was a "transector," while the head component, Spike/Fortress was the only sentient part of the robot.

Either way, Metroplex was supposed to be larger (in the cartoon.)

metroplexe to me was always the bigger in the show just by looking at the scale of things

I always wanted Fortress Maximus to be bigger, but then you have to think that a human is the head of the robot that turns into the head of Fortress Maximus. He can't be THAT big. That is, unless you bring in some size shifting mumbo jumbo again. Still, if the toy's bigger, then that's what I go with.

It doesn't make any sense to me b/c a human is part of Fort Max's transformation; therefore his size is severely limited. Metroplex should logically be much bigger IMO. But who cares. Scale was never a huge priority in G1 anyway.

Before I thought they were the same size until now.

well in Car Robots Plasma was the size of a regulor TF, and the Emissy was Big
