Based on this logic, Suddenly Optimus Prime is Wreck-Gar's nephew, since Wreck-Gar and his Junkion brothers used their parts to help fix the exploded Ultra Magnus in the movie.

Now for a fairly obscure one, in the G1 tech spec, Sixshot is Quickswitch's father.

the spark-splitting idea was the best so far. also, keep in mind that Transformers probably don't have the same concept of family that humans do.

i usually explaine the concept of brothers by using the spark retcon. maybe sometimes when a spark is created, it has a significantly above average energy level so as a resault, it splits in two(and in rare cases, three) to keep from overloading.

could this also be used to explain why some transformers are more powerful than others?  Maybe the most powerful characters had sparks just below the splitting level and such?

I agree with the sparksplit, but i believe the core personality porogrammes of the cybertronians are like a cross between X-JET and MICROSOFT ie

prototypes with all their weaknesses are the (seeker) ver x.00 ,01 02...

new superweapons or special abillities then (codname)  1.0 for ELITE UNITS

lesser upgrades would be 1.1 1.2 etc

 

so STARSCREAM would bee SEEKER X1.9 (STARSCREAM) 1.3 if screamer got an upgrade x1.9 ss  1.31

I figure that "brothers" can be of two types.

 

1. Robots of the same original mold from the factory. This would make Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus be brothers, but when Megatron enters RID, it wouldn't make him Gigatron's brother (bad example.)

 

But I am not sure if clones should be considered brothers or not. For example, if they were all cloned at the same time (like the Autobot/Decepticon Clones) then they would be brothers, but say since Rampage was created by cloning Starscream, I am sure Starscream wouldn't have liked it that Rampage was his "brother."

Maybe clones should count as brothers if you consider them twins. Identical twins are still brothers or sisters.

Are you saying that family members would essentially be different versions of the same software, and that's why they'd be considered related?
