G1 Alt modes

Recommended Posts

For the toys, what were the alt modes for them.

I know some of the specifics, like Bumbles was a VW Bug, and Prowl/Smokescreen/Bluestreak are all the Datsun 280 Fairlady-Z, etc.

But what of the others.  What was Wheeljack, what was Jazz.  Sure, he was a Porsche, but what kind.

Wheeljack was a Lancia Stratos (Sp?) I think, Jazz was a martini porsche, Tracks was a stingray corvette, SS and SS were both lamborghini countachs, Mirage was an F-1 (but I dont know the model), a lot of the mini-bots didn't have authentic vehicle alt modes, but they looked like it.  That's all I know, Im sure someone else on here will be mroe helpful

Specifically, Jazz was a 935 Turbo and Mirage was a Ligier JS-11.

Some others:

Optimus - Freightliner COE

Skids - Honda City

Ironhide/Rachet - Nissan Vanette

Trailbreaker/Hoist - Toyota Hilux

Windcharger: Corvette (of some sort)

Jetfire: Stonewell/Bellcom VF-1S "Valkyrie" (officer model) with Super Armor

Huffer: Mitsubishi COE

Oh, by the way, COE means "Cab Over Engine" - often used to describe a flat nosed truck.

The Seekers Were F-15, Megatron was a Wealther P-38 pistle U.N.C.L.E. edition.

Yeah, but they don't make them anymore because of problems with the vehicle's turning axis being directly under the driver/passenger compartment. Also, riding in them was very uncomfortable, as the wheels were directly under the compartment, and this also made repairs and general maintenance a royal pain. That's why most new trucks are stardard ("long-nose.").

Specificfally, the seekers were F-15 B Eagles, and Megatron was a custom Walther P-38 with stock extension and suppressor. Thrust, Dirge and Ramjet would represent modified F-15's. As for Superion:

Silverbolt:British Aircraft Corporation Concorde supersonic passenger jet

Air Raid: McDonnel Douglas F-15 Eagle

Sky Dive: McDonnel Douglas F-16 Falcon

Slingshot: Rolls Royce/McDonnel Douglas  AV-8  Harrier V/STOL

Fireflight: McDonnel Douglas F-4 Phantom

CliffJumper was a "chibi" or cutesied version of - the 935 porsche

Now that you mention it HunterRose, all of the mini cars were chibi versions of their larger selves.
