I think I would actually prefer Soundwave as a coptor. But if you have to make him a musical device, at least make him an iPod. CD players are already starting to look archaeic.

It's really interesting to see the back-and-forth between Dreamworks, Hasbro, and Don........... gives you some insight into the pre-prod process.

 

Personally I don't care what they do, as long as the end result is cool.

a helicopter for soundwave?! how the bloody hell does that work?! why couldn't they have made him an illegal street racing car with huge sub-woofers?! i guess the car companies are too chicken jive to let any of their cars be used as decepticons. oh well, if soundwave regains his mass shifting abillity, you'll hear no complaints from me. at least the name soundwave would be more appropirate for that than a helicopter.

Nit to be negative, but doesn't else seem to think that a watching a CD player transform into an X foot tall robot on the big screen is going to look, I dunno....retarded.....?

Basically, we're all suddenly flabberghasted and frightened that the fandom at large has apparently been represented by a handful of people we've never heard of who have a laundry list of concerns we didn't realize were so important.

 

Steve-O Stonebraker, the Transformers FAQ guy, wrote yesterday: Yes, the Don Murphy boardies, representing Transfandom at large to the people in charge of the franchise. Gotta love 'em.

 

Basically, everyone in the mainstream Transformers online fandom had no freakin' idea size-changing was so important, or why so many of you think it's absolutely a must-have. Among other things, like having the original sound effects (ew), or staying 100% faithful to the original alt-modes, or staying 100% faithful to the original plot points from the first episode.

 

Further still, some people, who have not only loved Transformers since 1984, but have loved Transformers in various incarnations since 1984, are afraid of the movie being influenced by people who seem to hate anything that happened after 1985. There is a conception that anybody who professes a love for Only 1984 Transformers is not an actual Transformers fan, but someone who liked it a little when they were a kid, but stopped for two decades, but have just now returned to control "our" movie.
