BW Rat Trap (from season 1)

Here's what I would say about BW toys:

 

I think a lot of beastformer-haters saw the first wave of toys and were like "eww that sucks" (myself included). As such, they missed out on the improvements made in the '97 line, as well as the quantum leap forward (no pun intended) represented by the Transmetals. The TM2 figures weren't as good but were still great, thanks to a few notable standouts like Megatron and Dinobot.

i'm a huge fan of season 2 BW toys.... and even some season on figures (optimal Optimus - tigertron/cheetor) are great.  And the dinobot toy is great for no other reason than being show accurate.  Alas poor rhinox suffored a poor fate :(

...and then getting him home and finding out that he sucks... :tflaugh

But anyway...

 

I think this board needs more reactionary topics like this. There's been entirely too much respecting of others' opinions lately.

I wrote this topic as I was walking out the door. Now that I'm on my lunch break and have slightly more time to think, I'll add something here:

 

I'd really like to reach out to all the people on these boards who are saying "Cybertron/Galaxy Force sucks" "I'm quitting collecting the new line because of Cybertron/Galaxy Force sucking" and ask you guys what you are smoking?

Well, to me the best after G1 is BW, I love the organic side of bots, RID are just horrible toys, armada the same, energon... I like only the homages of G1 like the 2 dinos, galvatron, rodimus and downshift.

Galaxy Force are a great line, beatiful toys really, and of course much better than armada RID or energon..

Rattrap was a great toy., Not because of the toy itself but the character.

 

A toyline is not just a toyline by itself, it relies on the cartoons. Why did everyone like the Beast Wars toys so much? Because they were not only awesome but also had cool personalities. That is what made them so memorable.

 

Armada/Energon has not really given us characters that are really memorable aside from Kicker who gets the award for worst human ever!

 

Cybetron is looking ok. I am missing the lack of Powerlinx ports and some figures look odd such as Megatron. Optimus Prime and Starscream kicked ass though.  :thumb 

 

But it is by no means the best toyline. I think Beast Wars would win. Also because the show was kick ass.
