Cybertron is the best TF line since G1

Recommended Posts

First off, the competition:

Gen 2-generally just crappy repaints of G1

Machine Wars-pieces of crap nobody really cares about

Beast Wars-Introduced the Shell-Bot, lots of crappy basics, organic looking animals generally less cool than vehicles, strange organic looking robots.

Beast Machines-Like Beast Wars, only less cool.

RiD-Overrated line. More than half of the line were repaints from older lines. New molds included leftover Beast Wars/Beast Machines molds, a fire truck Optimus Prime(Fire Truck < Semi-Trailer), and three shell-bot Autobot cars. Kept the Beast Wars tradition alive with shell-bots and weird organic looking robot modes.

Armada-Back to the basics, but altogether a lackluster line. Better than some people give it credit for, but not as good as RiD or Energon.

Energon-Was the best main TF line to date after G1 IMHO. Better looking robot and alt-modes compared to Armada, and avoided all of RiD's vices. Some real classics with Megatron, Wing Saber, Shockblast, Starscream, Divebomb, Arcee, Landmine, Tow-Line, ect...

Galaxy Force/Cybertron, from all the pictures I've seen of it so far just blows these lines away. The new Optimus Prime is the best we've had since G1. Starscream is fantastic. I'm holding out my verdict for Megatron until I see it in person, but I like the Batmobile mode a lot. Vector Prime, Live Convoy, Excellion/Hot Shot(best deluxe car in modern TF), Flame Convoy/Scourge. There are some less impressive molds, but any line has those.

I am absolutely baffled by the hate I hear this line getting. Is this hate coming from G1 purists? Or is it coming from the people who actually do like the shell-bots and organic forms of BW/BM and RiD?

I do agree with you that Galaxy Force is a wonderful series and is the best since G1 (and possibly Beast Wars but I haven't seen enough to know). However I wouldn't diss the other series. They were good in their own ways but maybe not to par with GF. Now Cybertron I'm not saying anything on as I'm sure the dubbing will suck and the story line will be completely changed.

I'm not sure where the hate is coming from, but I've got all the decepticons from Galaxy Force and I LOVE them...

It's looking like it's going to be a wonderful line, and thus far has done nothing but make me extremely happy. :)

Cybertron will be a great line, but I don't think its better than BW.  The majority of BW basics are great, once they got away from the "lever" transformers, and the transmetals were some of the greatest TFs ever.

Plus for me, Beasts>cars/vehicles of any kind.

while i agree that GF is a great line and probably one of the best... your hatred of the other lines is equally as unfounded.  RID kicked ass and never forget it.  Beast Wars single handedly kept TF alive through a turbulant time.

Armada introduced a new aspect to TFs with the minicons and the updated TF schemes.

Energon Rules as far as i'm concerned for no other reason than Updated characters

This is your opinon and it differs from other ppl here.  I don't even watch the toons so the show acurrate doesn't bother me like some.  I focus on the figures.  I agree with you for the most part on the lines.

Galaxy Force thus far is a great line.  Each mold I get I'm impressed with.  My new acquisition is Nitro Convoy who is on the way as we speak.  I believe what really will make this line exceptional is the dedication by the designers to have less repaints.  If they stick to this vision...Galaxy Force will be on par with Beast Wars as second to G1.

After careful consideration, I've come around to the Beast Wars line.  Not as ownable collectibles for myself, but giving the line its deserved nod for keeping the Transformers genre alive in a dark time.

All opinions. I think whatever line gets you into the toys (or back into) is the one you'll hold dearest.

i just wanted to point out.... that your screen name is ROFFLEicious :tflaugh

Yes, welcome deliciouspeter. We can always use some around here :thumb
