Would you like to see a Transformer cartoon

Recommended Posts

I know that people here can sometimes have a hard time agreeing on certain things but one I thing I think we can all agree on is that we'd like to see a better cartoon series.

Cartoon series that have more originality to them seem to do a lot better than the rehashed storylines and concepts they tend to keep using over and over again.

My idea to introduce a new concept to the cartoon (and probably the toyline too) would be to make the humans a bigger part of the overall story. Not some group of kids either! Let's be real, if a group of alien transforming robots had their war spill over to the earth, there is NO WAY that earths governments and military forces wouldn't get involved in it!

Obviously our military technology wouldn't have much affect on such an advanced technological race. So what happens is the Autobots try to ally themselves with the earths governments, but in order to accept an alliance the governments insist that the Autobots let them study their technology so that they could come up with some better means of defending the planet against future Decepticon attacks.

That technology would be, creating human piloted transforming mecha.

A rougue organization, who is against the alliance steals the new technology for use against both Autobots and Decepticons. But they get duped by Megatron who promises the orgainization that if they help them defeat the Autobots then they'll leave the earth in peace and never return.

All that would set up a nice new dynamic to the show along with some potentially cool new figures for the toyline. Having some tf's with human pilots would be a nice more practical gimmick and it gives the overall story a little more realism and a lot more suspense.

So whatta ya' think? Or if anyone else has their own ideas post them here.

i really do wish the government would get more involved in the tf civil war. i can just imagine the USA government buttering up to the autobots in order to get their technology while making secret and dirty deals with the decepticons as a back up plan.

meanwhile, an anti-transformer sentiment would arise in japan about how the tf's are not actual life forms and are just "mindless war machines following the last commands of long dead humanoid creators". in order to prove that humanity is still better than "mindless machines", a highly successful japanese robotics company would build their own human piloted mecha, kind of along the lines of a gundam.

then back in america, the USA Government would use the transforming technology they acquired to create transforming mechs along the lines of a macross valkyrie.

No Offense...

But this is like Headmaster, Targetmaster, Powermasters all over again. It's not a horrible Idea. But it's been done before. Even in the original G1 Cartoon a few humans drove TF's.

I like the Humans and Governments getting involved, cause that's what would really happen. Though I'd think it would be a more Humans versus ALL TF's like how the comics handled things.

If there was to be a newer, mature cartoon I'd place it as Humans vs. both Warring TF Factions. Autobots vs. Decepticons vs. Humanity.

Its a good idea, but its basically the basis for Devils Due GI Joe vs Transformers.

Its a good idea, but the idea of transformers with pilots would have to be either on a pretty large scale or have the pilots no bigger then the old diaclone guys.

I really despise human intereference, for one thing the dremwave comic lol. nuking the transformers and making superion sacrifice himself >< and also the original g1 cartoon: Human pointing at stunticons: "OMG, there land vehicles, they must be autobots!." SAD SAD! they cant even tell the insignia differences!

In galaxy force, theres an agent following coby around, methinks this is what you want.

the war was included in binaltech and even g1 (see megatron's master plan)

Obviously our military technology wouldn't have much affect on such an advanced technological race.

I have to disagree. Sure, humans would be at a technological disadvantage, but unless the transformers came in one large group (as oppose to a dozen or more), I'm certain earths forces would take them down sooner or later. Hence the need for alternate modes to hide themselves from mankind. Of course, the Decepticons will only hide so often, and it'll be up to the Autobot to protect mankind as best as possible, while at the same time not making a big scene to grab too much attention from mankind.

I knew someone would bring up Headmasters and sure, it maybe have a bit of similarity but as for the way the story works it's totally different.

In Headmasters the Nebulons only became a part of the TF's, they were just tf's that allowed themselves to be joined with a humanoid partner. The TF still had it's own consciousness. In this case we're talking about mecha built by and piloted by humans. The mechs won't have a seperate personality that the pilots merge with. Powermasters were a bit different as well.

Either way, in the American series they were only involved in the last few episodes and really never had their story potential fully explored. (I'm not including the Japanese series because that was never shown here and I've never seen them)

Think of it this way, hypothetically speaking, if TF's did exist then the first thing our government would want to do is figure out how they work and try to use that technology to put it to good practical use. That's what made me think of it more than the Headmasters story did.

Right I got what you were saying and the differences. I like the idea, but I wouldn't want a cartoon filled with more non-sentient, piloted robots than actual alive TF's.

In the Marvel comics, the goverment captured and dismantled many Autobots, including Blaster, Perceptor, Warpath, Seaspray, Beachcomber and others. They stored their heads like trophies on a wall while they took their bodies apart, analyzed, and rebuilt them.

IMO, I think something like that would be awesome to see in a new cartoon. TF's captured by humans and disected and studied, painfully.

I actually started this topic so that other people can share their own ideas for adding something new to the story, so don't let my idea be the only one discussed here. There are plenty of good concepts out there that could be a nice refreshing change from the same ol' same ol', so let's hear some more!
